Tough As Nails July 9, 2023 Eliminated Carly Steiman From Individual Competitions (Recap)
Hey, “Tough As Nails” fans. Tonight, July 9, 2023, another new episode of Tough As Nails’ current season 5 did hit the air, and another unlucky contestant did get eliminated from individual competitions at the end. Tonight’s episode kicked off with host Phil Keoghan showing up to give the contestants another team challenge.
In this team challenge, they had to complete 3 whoops for a Motocross dirt track. Cheryl was selected to be crew boss for Dirty Hands, and Carolina was crew boss for the Savage Crew for this comp.
During this challenge, the Dirty Hands team ran into problems with a quality check on their first whoop, but they quickly corrected it to take and early lead over the Savage Crew team who also had an issue with their first quality check.
Savage Crew were able to correct it. However, Dirty Hands pulled out pretty far ahead of them. Ultimately, Dirty Hands were just too good and won this challenge to tie up the team competitions 2-2. They also won 12,000 dollars for this win.
Carolina expressed that she was extremely mad and upset about losing this team competition because she thought no one was listening to her instructions. She said she built motocross tracks with her bear hands before, and no one would listen to her.
After all of that, host Phil Keoghan returned to give the contestants their individual challenge for this episode. In this one, they had to run to get on an ATV. Then, drive it and use it to pull a log through a mud course. After that, they had to carry the log and set it in place to complete it. The contestants were paired up in this one for 5 individual heats. It was a timed event. So, the person with the fastest time, won for a prize of $4,000 dollars. The slowest two times had to compete in the Overtime challenge.
Marcus went up against Jessica in the first heat. Marcus flew through it for the win. Jessica still completed to get a time up on the board.
Akeela went up against Cheryl: Cheryl fell and hurt herself while trying to run to get on the ATV. She eventually got back up despite having a sore muscle. Akeela won the heat, but Cheryl was still able to complete it to at least get a time up on the board.
Paul went up against Carly. They both got stuck in the mud, but they eventually wiggled their way out of it. Carly won the heat. Kenji went up against Dustin. Dustin got stuck in the mud, but he wiggled his way out of it. Kenji won the heat.
Ben went up against Todd. Ben got stuck in the mud real bad because mud got into his engine. He had to clear out his engine to eventually get the ATV started again and get out of the mud to complete the course. Todd won the heat.
Next, Phil revealed that Marcus had the fastest time to win this competition and the $4,000 dollars. Akeela came in 2nd place. Jessica took 3rd place. Cheryl finished in 4th place. Kenji took 5th place. Todd took the 6th spot. Ben came in 7th place. Dustin took 8th place. Carly and Paul finished as the last 2. So, Carly and Paul had to do the Overtime challenge.
In the Overtimne challenge: Carly and Paul had to replace two warn out shocks on an ATV as fast as they could. Then, drive the ATV and knock over hay bails for the win. Paul completed it the fastest for the win. So, Carly Steiman got eliminated from the individual competitions.
Carly told the private cams, “I came here to win, but it didn’t go as planned. I’m fully all in for the team competitions.” How do you guys feel about Carly Steiman getting eliminated from individual competitions in this episode? Let us know in the comments section.
