The Bachelorette July 17, 2023 Eliminated John, Michael, Caleb B & Brayden (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, July, 17, 2023, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2023 edition with headliner Charity Lawson did hit the air, and another 4 guys got eliminated at the conclusion.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with host Jesse Palmer showing up to give the guys a date card. It revealed that Dotun got the first 1 on 1 date of this episode. Next, we quickly got footage of Charity and Dotun’s 1 on 1 date. Charity took Dotun for a ride in a jeep to go bungee jumping.
After they did the bungee jump together, Charity told the private cams that she felt great about it. “Dotun was the only reason I was able to get through that. He’s a great person,” she said. Dotun told the private cams, “I know Charity was scared, but she was still able to push through, and I just value that so much in a person.”
During the second half of their date, Charity and Dotun roasted marshmallows over a fire in the woods. Then, they talked. Dotun told Charity how he came to America. Charity told Dotun, “I relate to you. You blow me away everytime we talk. I really feel so good around you.”
Dotun said, “I feel that way about you too. You give me a lot of hope,” and they kissed. Charity told the private cams, “This feels right. Dotun really could be my person.” Charity eventually gave Dotun a rose, and they kissed. Dotun told the private cams, “Charity is someone I’ve been looking for my whole life.” They finished off their date by getting in a hot tub and kissing some more.
Next, Joey, Aaron, Michael, Caleb, Brayden, Sean, John and Tanner were seen going on a group date with Charity. During it, they went to the woods to meet Charity. Then, Charity brought on some girl scouts to give the guys a few challenges. The first challenge required the guys to go find something edible to eat in the woods.
The second challenge required the guys to answer some questions about Charity. After all of that, the girl scouts chose a winner, and that winner was Aaron. As a reward, Aaron got to spend more time with Charity at the kissing tree. So, they went to the kissing tree and made out. Meanwhile, Brayden told the private cams, “Charity might be an amazing woman, but not an amazing woman for me.”
During the group date afterparty, Brayden got in another heated argument with Aaron and Sean about the negative things he’s been saying about Charity around the house and threatening to leave. Charity walked in on it. They told Charity that Brayden has packed his bags twice this season. Brayden didn’t deny it and said he absolutely did. At this point, Charity pulled Brayden aside to have a talk.
During this talk, Brayden told Charity, “I have not been excited since I got here.” Charity said,”Why?” Brayden said, “I was hurt after our last conversation. I didn’t understand why you were so mad at me.” Charity said, “The things you’re saying about me scares the hell out of me.” Brayden said, “I still have no idea where I sit with you.”
Charity said, “I’m so frustrated because I feel like I’ve expressed how I feel about you, and it’s never enough.” Brayden said, “I feel like I like you, but I don’t want to be here right now. I don’t feel like I can thrive in this environment.”
Charity said, “Well, that’s disappointing. I’ll walk you out.” Charity told the private cams, “I’m not in a position to fix Brayden. He reminds me of my old relationship. That is not a road I want to travel down again. I’m annoyed because I’m just now realizing that Brayden was a waste of my time.” From there, Charity went back and told the rest of the guys she got rid of Brayden, and they were so happy.
At this point, Charity talked 1 on 1 with the guys at the afterparty. She talked with Aaron B. He told her, “I’m glad you were able to see how toxic Brayden was. You sent a strong message.” Charity said, “I thank you for always being protective of me.”
Charity talked with Sean. Charity told the private cams, “Sean helped me feel better.” Charity talked with Joey. He told her, “You’ve made me feel so special. I just wanna learn more about you. That’s all I want.” Charity said, “Thank you,” and they kissed.
Charity talked with Tanner. He told her, “You’re so great with all the guys, and I just want to get to know more about you,” and they kissed. Charity talked with Michael. They had a good time. At the end, Charity gave Joey the group date rose.
Next, we got footage of Xavier and Charity’s 1 on 1 date. She took him to a fruit festival. They ate fruit together and seemed to have fun, but Charity told the private cams, “I need more than just nice compliments from Xavier. He reminds me a little bit of my ex. I could be wrong though. I’m just trying to figure out if our connection is strong enough.” They did do a lot of talking and kissing at one point.
During the second half of Charity and Xavier’s 1 on 1 date, they talked over drinks. Charity told the private cams, “I need to see how loyal Xavier is.” She asked him, “Do you have any fears?” Xavier said, “My fear is giving all of myself in a relationship and not getting that reciprocated.”
He asked her what she fears the most. She said, “infadelity.” She experienced that a lot in her past relationship. Xavier went on to tell Charity that he dedicated his whole career to having a chance to help his ill mother. Charity told the private cams, “I now see a whole new level to Xavier.” Charity told Xavier, “I really appreciate you opening up,” and she gave him a rose. Then, they kissed. Charity told the private cams, “I have a much more confident feeling about Xavier. I’m seeing all good signs with him.”
At the cocktail party, Charity talked with Aaron. He gave her a massage. Charity talked with Joey, and they kissed. Charity talked with Tanner. They took a walk in the woods and kissed. Then, Brayden came back unannounced! The other guys were shocked. He walked in on Charity and John kissing and interrupted them to talk with Charity. John was super ticked off about that.
Brayden told Charity, “I didn’t like how I left the other day, and I’m really sorry about this whole thing. I was really emotionally charged at the time. I just haven’t been able to trust myself through this process.” Charity said, “I don’t know if you ever saw yourself at the end of this with me.” Brayden said, “I just wanted to tell you that it was nothing you did. I was just getting inside my own head.” Charity said, “Thanks. I appreciate that.”
When Brayden tried to leave, the other guys came out and gave him a really hard time. So, a lot of drama ensued with them until Brayden’s exit car finally left. Host Jesse Palmer told the guys that Charity cut the cocktail party short after Brayden left. So, that made the guys get even more pissed off at Brayden.
During the rose ceremony, Charity gave: Aaron, Tanner and Sean a rose to join Xavier, Dotun and Joey who received roses earlier in this episode. That means poor: John, Michael and Caleb B didn’t get a rose and had to join Brayden in making their exits.
