The Bachelorette July 24, 2023 Eliminated Sean & Tanner (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, July 25, 2023, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2023 edition with headliner Charity Lawson did indeed hit the air, and another couple of guys got their walking papers by the time it was over.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with Charity and her guys arriving in New Orleans. Shortly after that, we got footage of Charity telling the guys that she’s going on a 1 on 1 date with Joey. During their date, they took a carriage ride. They appeared to have a good time as they talked and kissed.
At one point, they walked the streets to do some dancing and kissing. Joey told the private cams, “I don’t want to stop kissing her.” They went to see a poet. During the poet session, Charity and Joey said really nice things about each other while the poet typed up a poem for them. Then, Charity and Joey read it and kissed again.
During the second half of their date, Charity told the private cams, “I want to continue to explore what our future could look like together. They told each other they were blown away by the day portion of their date. Since hometown dates are next, Charity asked Joey, “How would your family like meeting me?” Joey, said,”I think they would love meeting you. You’re amazing.”
Charity asked Joey, “How do you feel about being in an interracial relationship?” Joey said, “I wouldn’t fully know the challenges of it until I actually experience them, but me and my family understand that love is love, and it’s what’s on the inside that’s important. I mean every word of that.”
Charity told the private cams, “Joey made me cry happy tears.” Charity told Joey, “You’re someone that makes me feel so safe. Will you accept this rose?” He said, “Yes,” and they kissed. Joey told the private cams, “I can really see a finish line with Charity.” He told her, “I am falling in love with you.” She said, “Thank you.” Charity told the private cams, “I am falling in love with Joey.”
Next, we got footage of Sean and Tanner going on a 2-1 date with Charity. Charity told the private cams, “I’m trying to gauge which one is more of a boyfriend and which one is husband material. She took them on boat ride through alligator infested waters. They seem to have a good time during it. After the boat ride, they ate crawfish. Tanner told the private cams he was worrying that Charity and Sean were building more momentum than he and Charity.
During the second half of this 2 on 1 date, They had dinner and talked. Charity told them that she needs to get clarity. She talked 1 on 1 with Sean and asked him, “How do you feel about hometowns?” Sean said, “I really want you to meet them and interact with them. I know this process is a risk, but it’s one I’m willing to take,” and they kissed.
Charity talked with Tanner. He told her he had his guard up due to past relationships. He said, “I got ghosted all of a sudden after a bad argument. So, I’ve been guarded, but that’s not what I want.” Charity said, “I relate in the sense of not receiving love.”
Tanner told Charity, “I’m just happy I met you. You’re an amazing person,” and they kissed. At the end of this 2 on 1 date, Charity was so confused that she decided to wait and think about it some more before making a decision between keeping Sean or Tanner. Sean was really upset and kept telling the private cams how upset he was about Charity needing longer to think about it.
Next, we got footage of Dotun going on another 1 on 1 date with Charity. She took him to go dancing in the streets, and they ran a marathon. They ended up kissing in the streets and having a good time. They talked and agreed that everything just comes naturally for them.
During the second half of their date, they talked about hometowns. Dotun told her, “I’m really excited for you to meet my parents.” He talked about his fear of failure due to some past experiences. Charity said she relates.”I think we both deserve to feel confident,” she said. Dotun said, “That makes me feel a lot better. I’m learning to unlearn my bad habits from you.”
Charity told the private cams, “Dotun makes me feel so happy.” Dotun told Charity, “I’m definitely falling in love with you at this point.” Charity smiled real big and said, “That’s exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you so much,” and they kissed. Charity told the private cams, “I’m overjoyed. This is the best feeling ever.” Charity gave Dotun a rose, and they kissed. Charity told the private cams, “Dotun is someone who I would totally navigate this life with.” Dotun told the private cams, “Our connection is very strong.”
Sean went to talk with Charity at this point. He told her that he didn’t feel any validation from her, and that he’s concerned about not getting a 1 on 1 date by now. He said, “I’m totally in the process of falling in love with you, and that’s why getting that 2 on 1 date rose would’ve meant so much to me.”
Charity told Sean, “There are connections that are stronger. What you want from me, I can’t give to you, and I don’t think I can get there. I know that’s not what you want to hear. I’m so sorry. Can I walk you out?” Sean told the private cams, “I feel so heartbroken and confused. I don’t get it. I tried so hard. It just wasn’t enough.”
After all of that, we got footage of a group date featuring: Aaron Xavier and Tanner. During this group date, Charity just simply talked 1 on 1 with all of them to try and figure out who she wanted to take to hometowns. During her talk with Aaron, Aaron told her he felt a little bad about not getting a 1 on 1 in New Orleans, “But our past times together got me through it,” he said.
During her talk with Tanner, he told her, “I can totally see you visiting my family. It would be an amazing time.” During her talk with Xavier, he told her, “It scares me to commit to one person because when I do it, I wanna do it right, but I think I can get there with you.” At the end, Charity gave Aaron the group date rose.
To wrap things up, Charity pulled Tanner aside to tell him, “I want to be able to not be the person who lets you down. It really does pain me because you are truly an incredible person.” Tanner said, “I understand.” After that, Charity walked Tanner out. Tanner told the private cams, “Charity deserves the world. She’s special.”
Charity told Xavier, “I want to meet your family. There’s so much more I want to learn about you,” and she gave him the last rose for this episode. Then, they kissed. So, Tanner and Sean got eliminated in this episode. The final four men are: Aaron, Dotun, Joey and Xavier. Charity will be heading to their hometowns in next week’s new episode.
