60 Minutes May 26, 2024 Two Repeat Episodes Preview Revealed
Hey, “60 Minutes” fans. We’re back in your faces with some not-so-great news for most of you. Apparently, last week’s new episode of 60 Minutes was the finale episode of the current season 56. So, CBS won’t be airing anymore new episodes until the new season 57 starts up in a couple of months, probably around September 2024 or somewhere in that timeframe.
However, they will air repeat episodes of 60 Minutes to help tide people over. Some of you guys might not have seen these repeat episodes. So, these would be great for that audience. Tonight, May 26, 2024, CBS is actually serving up two, back-to-back repeat episodes, and we’ve got some preview information for what those two repeat episodes will feature just in case you want to check them out.
Actually, these episodes are more like repeat segments that have already aired in the past. The first episode, which is airing in the 6 pm central standard time slot will feature two segments, which have previously aired. The first one is titled, “OPERATION LONE STAR.” ABC’s official description for it reads like this, “Correspondent Cecilia Vega reports from Eagle Pass, Texas, where she interviewed Governor Greg Abbott. The governor’s controversial border enforcement effort, known as Operation Lone Star, has led to a showdown with the federal government.”
The second and last repeat segment for the 6 pm episode is titled, “THE ISLE OF MAN.” CBS official description for it reads like this, “Bill Whitaker reports from the Isle of Man on the longest-running and most dangerous motorcycle race on earth: the Isle of Man TT.
Once the seat of a Viking kingdom, the 30-mile-long island sits in the middle of the Irish Sea, with England to the east and Ireland to the west. Whitaker examines not just that wild and improbable event, but the distinct Manx identity and culture that has kept it going for more than a century.”
The second episode, airing in the 7 pm central standard time slot will feature three repeat segments. The first one is titled, “THE SPERM WHALES OF DOMINICA.” CBS’ description for it reads like this, “The sperm whale, one of the largest animals in the sea, is at risk because of noise pollution, ship strikes and plastic trash. Cecilia Vega dives in off the coast of Dominica, where hundreds of sperm whales live year-round, to observe these mysterious mammals and understand the efforts to protect the vulnerable species.”
The second repeat segment is titled, “MONKEY ISLAND.” CBS’ description for it reads like this, “Correspondent Lesley Stahl reports from Cayo Santiago, also known as Monkey Island, off the coast of Puerto Rico, home to roughly 1,800 rhesus macaque monkeys whose DNA is a 94% match to humans.
Stahl examines one study set to determine the impact of environmental crises on the longevity and overall health of the macaques and what the inhabitants of Monkey Island can reveal about climate-related trauma and survival.”
The 3rd and last repeat segment for this 7 pm episode is titled, “HANGING ON.” CBS’ description for it reads like this, “60 MINUTES’ Sharyn Alfonsi reports from Costa Rica on sloths and their superpower of slowing down. Alfonsi examines how these mammals have mastered the art of survival for more than 60 million years and the new threats of climate change to the species.”
Again, CBS’ press release confirmed that two repeat episodes of 60 minutes are hitting the air tonight, May 26, 2024, starting at approximately 6 pm central standard time.
