The Bachelorette August 5, 2024 Eliminated John, Thomas N, Dylan & Austin Quit (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, August 5, 2024, another new episode of The Bachelorette 2024 edition with headliner Jenn Tran hit the air, and we saw another couple of guys get eliminated. One of them quit actually.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with Jenn telling the guys that her ex Matt showed up to compete for her. Some of the guys started talking about it, and they said they thought it was whack and didn’t want to be apart of it.
Jenn went back out to talk to Matt. She told him, “I really appreciate you coming here and doing this. No one has ever done something like this for me before. Why now?” Matt said, “It’s either now or never. You’re leaving here engaged. I’m just not ready to let you go.”
Jenn told the private cams, “Me and Matt have had great times together. We’re just very compatible.” Devin told Grant and some of the other guys, “If Jenn lets Matt stay, I’m leaving.” Eventually, Matt came out to tell the rest of the guys, “Jenn chose not to let me stay, and she sees one of you guys as being her future.”
Jenn came back and told the guys, “Matt said all the right things, but he was not the right guy.” Next, Jenn did a rose ceremony. During it, she gave: Grant, Jeremy, Jonathon, Spencer, Dylan and Austin a rose. Poor Thomas N and John did not get a rose. So, they were eliminated.
Next, we got footage of Jonathon and Jenn’s 1 on 1 date. Jenn took Jonathon for a helicopter ride to a field. They ran and played around together. Then, they had a talk in a hot tub. It went well and they kissed. Jenn told the private cams, “I hope to break down some barriers with Jonathon on this date.”
During the second half of Jenn and Jonathon’s date, they talked. He told her about his past relationship that went bad. The girl was an alcoholic. He tried to call her on it, and she went ballistic on him. “That relationship destroyed me to my core,” he said.
Jenn told Jonathon, “I can relate to you more than you know. I had an ex that constantly gaslit me.” Jonathon told Jenn, “It’s refreshing to talk to you.” He told the private cams, “Jenn makes me feel heard.” Jonathon went onto explain to Jenn other issues his family had while he was growing up. Jenn said she also related to it. Jonathon told the private cams, “Jenn helped me get to the next step. She’s amazing.” Jenn told Jonathon, “I feel like I understand you a lot better now.” She gave him a rose, and they kissed.
After all of that, Jenn took Devin, Sam, Marcus, Spencer, Jeremy, Dylan and Austin out on a group date. She took them to a sheep farm. They were given a task of trying to herd the sheep and other farming chores. At the end, the farmers chose Devin as the winner of the farming chores challenge. So, Devin got to spend extra time with Jenn. The other guys definitely didn’t agree with that decision claiming, he was just talking to Jenn most of the time and not doing any work.
At the afterparty, Jenn talked with Jeremy. They talked about their biggest fears. Jeremy told the private cams, ” I feel really comfortable with Jenn,” and they kissed.
Jenn talked with Austin. He told her, “I feel like I’ve been playing catch up, and I don’t think I can continue this journey.” Jenn said, “It’s a bit of a shock and not what I wanted to here, but I respect it.” She hugged him and walked him out. Austin told her, “I wish you nothing but the best.” Jenn told the private cams,”This makes me worried some of the other guys might be feeling this same way too.”
Jenn went back and told the other guys that Austin decided to leave, and she expressed her feelings of possibly not being good enough for them. Sam M pulled Jenn aside to let her know that he most certainly thinks she’s good enough and that he would be there for her through the good and bad times.
Jenn talked with Marcus. He told her that she’s incredible. She said, “I always look forward to our conversations,” and they hugged. Devin told Jenn, “I think you are worthy and more,” and they hugged and kissed. Ultimately, Jenn decided not to hand out a group date rose.
Next, Jenn took Grant on a 1 on 1 date. She took him to go horseback riding. Afterwards, they talked about what she went through with Austin leaving at the group date and her feelings about it. Grant told her, “You don’t have to be perfect. I rock with you,” and they hugged and kissed.
During the second half of Jenn and Grant’s date. They talked. He talked to her about his father and how he was a drug addict and was always lying to him. However, he’s proud of his father for eventually getting help for his addiction.
Jenn told Grant, “My heart goes out to you for having to go through all that.” Jenn told the private cams, “I feel a lot closer to Grant now.” She told him, “I can relate to your story. My father took off and left my mom. I started searching for love in all the wrong places.”
Grant told Jenn, “I feel like we have a lot in common. I’m in your corner.” Jenn told the private cams,”I feel like Grant has a lot of the things I’m looking for.” She gave Grant a rose, and they kissed. Grant told the private cams, “I see Jenn as someone I could spend my life with.”
At the cocktail party, Jenn told the guys that she knows what she’s looking for and doesn’t need to have a cocktail party. So, they went straight to the rose ceremony. During it, Jenn gave: Sam M, Devin, Marcus, Jeremy and Spencer a rose to join Jonathon and Grant who received roses earlier in this episode.
That means poor Dylan did not get a rose and joined John, Thomas N and quitter Austin who left earlier in this episode. Dylan told the private cams, “I thought there was more to me and Jenn, but I was just not her person.”
