Survivor September 18 Voted Off Jon Lovett In Premiere Episode (Recap)

Hey, “Survivor” fans. Tonight, September 18, 2024, the first, premiere episode of Survivor’s current season 47 did indeed hit the air, and we saw the first unlucky contestant get voted out at the end.

Tonight’s new episode kicked off with all the new 18 contestants, making their arrival to the island. Then, host Jeff Probst named the three tribes that they’re lumped into. They are: Tuku, Lavo and Gata. From there, some of the contestants introduced themselves. Next, they were hit with their first challenge, which was for the flint, pot and machete supplies.

During this challenge, each tribe member had to go through an obstacle course and retrieve puzzle pieces. Then, they had to complete the puzzle for the win. Gata won it to claim the flint, pot and machete supplies.

The other two tribes got another chance to win supplies. They had to choose one person to complete a task for a chance to get their supplies. This task ended up involving Aysha from Lavo and TK from Tuku going on a boat journey to complete a challenge.

Sue told the private cams that she really likes Caroline and feels like there is something there. “She’s my number one,” she said. Genevieve told the private cams that she really likes Rome. She also said she wants Teeny as an ally. Teeny told the private cams that she really likes Genevieve.

Aysha and TK were seen arriving at their destination. When they got there, they were told that they had to compete against each other to win their supplies, and only one of them could win. The comp required them to track down 4 keys via some clues for the win, and TK ended up winning it.

TK told his Tuku tribe all about how he won the supplies for his team. We got footage of Gabe finding a beware advantage. It told him to find a key that unlocks the box to get the immunity idol. TK saw Gabe looking for the key. So, he told him he just found the key but not the beware advantage. TK knew that didn’t add up so he told the private cams, “Maybe Gabe and I aren’t as close as I thought.” However, the two played along like it was no big deal.

Rome from the Lavo tribe went looking for an idol, and he found the beware advantage. It told him to find the box that contains everything he needs to get his idol.

Back at Tuku, Gabe told Sue he found the beware advantage, and she kept lookout for him while he tried to find the box. He found the box and got the immunity idol. However, it had some other layers to it. It was only good for one tribal council meeting, but he was given another option that was good for 3 tribal councils. He took the 3 tribal council option and had to go search for another clue.

At Gata, Andy started feeling insecure about his game play and talked with Rachel about it, but she told the private cams that she didn’t like the way Andy took her alone to talk, claiming it messed up her game play.

Jon told the private cams, “I don’t know if I wanna work with someone like Andy and his insecurities.” At Tuku, Gabe found the next key he needed to get the three tribal council immunity idol.

At Lavo, Rome got caught by Aysha looking for his immunity idol. He did find the second key. However, Aysha told everyone in their tribe about it, which caused them to really get suspicious of Rome. Aysha told the private cams, “Rome is going to be the first one to go.”

At this point, host Jeff Probst showed up with the first immunity challenge of this season. During it, each tribe had to paddle a boat out to acquire three heavy chests filled with puzzle pieces. Then, they had to push the chests back to shore to complete the puzzle for the win. The Lavo tribe won first. The Tuku tribe won second and the Gata tribe lost. So, they had to go to tribal council and figure out who to vote out.

This immunity challenge also doubled as a reward challenge. The Lavo tribe won a survivor toolkit for finishing in first place. The Tuku tribe won a smaller toolkit for finishing in second place.

During the immunity challenge, Andy all of a sudden needed medical attention. Afterwards, it was revealed that he suffered from some heat exhaustion. When he got back, he started expressing all of his insecurities and revealing his strategy to all the tribes. He stated that one of his moves would be to throw Jon under the bus. Some of the other contestants tried to signal to Andy to stop talking, but he didn’t see it.

At Gata, Anika told the private cams that Andy makes her nervous. Angela, Rachel and Sierra told Jon they’re going to tell Andy he’s leaving. Jon didn’t feel right about. So, he went and talked to Andy. Andy told him he wants to get Anika out. So, Jon made a plan with Andy to campaign to get Anika out. Jon and Andy campaigned to Kyle about targeting Anika. Kyle told the private cams he’s not voting off Anika.

Kyle talked with the girls about whether or not to vote off Jon or Andy heading into the tribal council meeting. At the tribal council meeting, they talked a lot about Andy’s breakdown. Andy basically said he’s ready to accept the outcome of whatever comes from that.

After the contestants casts their votes, Anika got one vote, and Jon received 4 votes. So, with the 4 votes, Jon became the first victim of this season. Jon told the private cams, “Nobody imagines they’be the first to go, but when you take a risk, that can happen. I’m the first one out. Let me have it.”
