Survivor Kyle Fraser Won Season 48 In Finale Episode (Recap)

Earlier tonight, May 21, 2025, CBS aired another finale episode of Survivor’s current season 48, and we finally found out who won this season.
Tonight’s new episode kicked off with talk about the last tribal council meeting, which sent Shauhin packing and off to the jury. Kyle told the private cams, “I set it up, and Kamilla ducked. Now, we have all the options to make it to the final four.”
Eva told Joe, “I think Kyle wants to be with you and me, and we vote out Kamilla next.” Kamilla told the private cams, “Joe and Eva believed my lies. I think I deserve an Emmy.” Joe told the private cams, “I’m so happy to make it to the final five.”
Next, everyone was told that there’s a hidden advantage for the next immunity challenge, and there are clues to help them find it. So, they went searching for it, and Eva won it.
At this point, host Jeff Probst showed up with the new immunity challenge. During it, they had to make it through some obstacles and solve a fire puzzle for the win.
Eva’s advantage gave her the numbers for her combination lock without having to place a ball in a basket. It was pretty lame, but I guess it saved her a little bit of time.
Kamilla won the comp to guarantee her spot in the final four. This comp doubled as a reward comp. The prize was a trip to the sanctuary, a pasta feast and cake dessert. Kamilla chose to take Eva with her to the reward feast.
Mitch campaigned to Kyle to target Joe. Kyle told the private cams he needs to think about either targeting Joe or Mitch.
Eva told private cams, “I’m voting Mitch off. Also, I’m safe no matter what because I’m playing my immunity idol. It’s the last night I can use it.”
Kamilla told Kyle, “We should vote Mitch out.” Kamilla told Mitch, “I think I lose if I sit next to you in the final three. Everybody loves you.” Mitch told the private cams, “To be this close to the end, it’s tough to know I’m going home.”
At the tribal council meeting, they talked about how they let Mitch know that he’s going and how they didn’t want to deceive him. Eva played her idol since it was the last time she could play it. So, any votes for her did not count.
The vote count revealed that Kyle got 1 vote, and Mitch got 3 votes. So, with the 3 votes, Mitch was voted off. He gave everyone a hug and told everyone to have fun. He waived goodbye on the way out.
Mitch told the private cams, “Every expectation I had about this experience was blown out of the water, and I can’t be ashamed about making it to day 24.”
Eva told the private cams, “If I win the final immunity challenge, I’m taking Joe. He’s been my number one since the beginning.”
Kamilla told Kyle, “My best shot at winning is if I don’t sit next to you in the final three. So, if I win, I will put you up against Joe in the fire-making challenge.” Kyle said, “I understand. I was thinking the same thing.”
Joe told the private cams, “I’m taking Eva to the final three if I win. Kyle told Joe, “I’m taking you to the final three if I win.”
Next, Jeff showed up again with the final immunity challenge of this season. During it, they had to tie one arm behind their back and catch a ball after it made it through a ball maze. If they dropped it, they were out. They had to keep adding more balls to make it even more difficult.
It came down to Kyle and Joe, and Kyle won it to guarantee his spot in the final three. Kyle told the private cams, “I’m taking Joe to the final three.” Kyle told Joe, “I’m taking you.” Joe said, “Thank you. My kids thank you. I’m super proud of you.”
Kyle told Eva that he’s taking Joe to the final 3 and gave her a hug. Eva told the private cams, “I’m gonna make a killer fire in the challenge.” Kyle told the private cams, “I want Eva to beat Kamilla because I’m terrified of sitting next to her in the final three.”
Kamilla told the private cams, “I’m proud to know the reason I’m making fire is because I’m a threat to someone’s game. I can do this.”
Eva told the private cams, “I don’t wanna make fire. It’s a lot of pressure.” She had trouble while practicing for it and started crying. Joe went to check in on her. Joe offered to do the fire challenge, but Eva refused saying, “No, I am going to do this.”
So, Joe helped her prepare for the challenge, and she started getting better at it. Meanwhile, Kamilla told the private cams, “I’m going to give everything I have into doing this fire-making challenge.”
At the tribal council meeting, they talked game for a bit. Then, Eva and Kamilla did the fire-making challenge. Eva got off to a great start while Kamilla struggled to even get a fire going. However, Eva’s fire started going down, and she panicked. Joe told her to keep calm and blow on it. She did, and the fire rose to finally break the rope to give Eva a spot in the final three.
At the final tribal council meeting, Eva, Joe and Kyle answered questions from the jury to try to win this season.
Eva told them, “My weakness was my autism. So, I chose an ally that would never lie to me. I built a very strong relationship with Joe. We are one of the strongest duos in this game. I had a knowledge is power advantage, and I didn’t even have to use it because of my strong social game. I kept my physics background a secret. I was not afraid to show who I am. I was loyal. I made Jeff cry. There’s never been a contestant like me.”
Joe told them, “My weakness is that I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve, but I was able to harness that. I had a great competition record, especially at my age of 45. I only had my name written down once this season.”
Kyle said, “My weakness was my overconfidence, but I used that to pivot in this game. I got into legal trouble that landed me in jail when I was younger, but I became a teacher. Then, a lawyer. I get down, but I get back up.
I was secretly working with Kamilla this entire game.” He revealed the secret plan he pulled off with Kamilla to get Joe and Eva to believe that Shauhin turned on them. “I showed what a well-rounded person I can be. I road the middle to the very end of this game.”
After all of that, the jury cast their votes for the winner of this season. Joe got 1 vote. Eva got 2 votes, and Kyle got 4 votes. So, with the 4 votes, Kyle won.
