RJ Decker New Season 2 Still In Question. ABC Hasn’t Renewed It Yet

Later on tonight, April, 28, 2026, ABC is going to air the new, finale episode 9 of R.J. Decker’s current, premiere season 1, and that could very well be the very last episode forever because as of this writing, ABC has not given it a new season 2 renewal order yet.

According to a couple of our sources, we’re still waiting for ABC to make an official announcement for R.J. Decker’s future fate.

So, while we wait, we’re going to take a look at some of the LIVE ratings and viewership numbers that R.J. Decker delivered for ABC during its season 1 debut to come up with an educated guess as to what ABC might do with this show moving forward.

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, R.J. Decker season 1 managed to average 3.188 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.18 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

The most recent episode 8, which aired last Tuesday night, April 21, 2026, managed to bring in 3.268 million LIVE viewers along with a 0.20 ratings score.

The most-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 3.692 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 5 with 2.985 million LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was episode 2 with a 0.23 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 3 with a 0.13 rating score.

The viewership numbers didn’t seem half bad. We’ve certainly seen much worse. If ABC renewed it, we wouldn’t be surprised by that decision. However, if they canceled it, we also wouldn’t really be very surprised.

While the viewership numbers seemed ok, they weren’t “knock it out of the ballpark” staggering. If ABC gets pitched a show they think might perform better in that time slot, it’s likely they will cancel R.J. Decker. If not, we could see them keeping it. Only time will tell for now.

Again, ABC has not yet renewed R.J. Decker for a new season 2. We’re still waiting for the official announcement to get made.
