Chicago Med New Season 12 Is Happening. NBC Renewed It

Tonight, May 13, 2026, NBC is airing the 21st episode of Chicago Med’s current season 11, and it will be the finale episode. So, that bags the question, will there be a new season 12? We can happily confirm with you guys, right now, that there will indeed a be a new season 12.

According to the folks over at Deadline.com , and their sources, NBC actually gave Chicago Med an early renewal order back in March 2026. So, they must have been very happy with season 11’s performance.

Deadline also mentioned that NBC renewed the Chicago Fire and Chicago PD shows for new seasons. So, if you’re also fans of those, that’s triple good news.

We’re being told that you can expect to see all three of these shows appear in NBC’s Fall 2026 line up. Currently, there are no details about how many episodes Chicago Med will feature. We’ll have to reveal that important info at later date when it becomes available from NBC.

According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Chicago Med season 11 averaged 5.537 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.34 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 20, which aired last Wednesday night, May 6, 2026, drew in 5.556 million LIVE viewers along with a 0.38 ratings score.

The most-viewed episodes were episodes 9 and 11. They both tied for first place with 5.760 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 2 with 5.047 million LIVE viewers.

The highest-rated episode was episode 13 with a 0.41 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 2 with a 0.28 ratings score
