Fire Country New Season 5 Is Happening. CBS Renewed It

Tonight, May 22, 2026, CBS is airing the 20th episode of Fire Country’s current season 4, and it is the season finale episode. So, we did check to see if CBS gave it a new season 5 renewal order.

According to the folks over at Deadline.com and their sources, CBS did indeed renew Fire Country for a brand new season 5.

In their article, they also mentioned that Fire Country will get a shorter season for season 5 though. They’re only giving it 13 new episodes instead of the 20 that it received for season 4. So, that’s kinda not so great for any of you who were hoping to see another full/20 plus episode season.

During the renewal announcement, CBS’ Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach stated, “The CBS Friday night entertainment lineup has been No. 1 for an incredible 16 straight seasons. So, we’re sticking with what works. Sheriff Country at 8, Fire Country at 9, and Boston Blue at 10.”

Fire Country will still show up in CBS’ Fall 2026 line up despite its shorter season order. According to the LIVE Nielsen ratings, Fire Country season 4 managed to average 3.853 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.21 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics.

Again, CBS officially renewed Fire Country for a brand new season 5 with a 13-episode order count that’s scheduled to premiere this Fall 2026. That is a wrap for this latest, “Fire Country” TV show report, but definitely stay tuned for more.
