‘Up In The Air’ Movie Gets Excellent Reviews From Top Movie Critics
‘Up In The Air’ movie gets excellent reviews from top movie critics. Paramount’s Picture’s new drama movie, “Up In The Air” got released nationwide two days ago,after being released in limited areas of the country during the first week of December. The top movie critics really seem to love this film as it got mostly As and a few Bs. It stars: George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, Jason Bateman, Tamala Jones,and Chris Lowell.
Wesley Morris from the Boston Globe gave it a B. He said, it was “warm, smoothly made.” Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave it an A. He stated, “(Vera) Farmiga is one of the warmest and most attractive women in the movies, or at least she plays one.”
Michael Phillips over at the Chicago Tribune gate it a B rating. He said, “It is actively impossible to dislike, even when its protagonist is doing nominally dislikable things.”
Luke Y. Thompson at E! Online gave it a B+. He stated, “Boasting solid performances, this is a movie of the moment, but might be too close to home for some viewers.”
Owen Gleiberman from Entertainment Weekly gave it an A. He said, it was “a rare and sparkling gem of a movie.” Filmcritic.com’s Chris Barsanti rated it a B-,stating, “There are many easy jokes here, and they don’t always jibe well.”
Stephen Farber at the Hollywood Reporter gave it another A. He said, “Laughs and heartbreak meld seamlessly in this brilliant character drama.”
Manohla Dargis from the New York Times gave it a B+ rating. She stated, “One of the pleasures of Up in the Air is that its actresses… share the frame with Mr. Clooney as equals, not props.”
James Berardinelli from Reelviews gave it an A-. He said, “one of the best movies to deal with the inhumanity of the way corporations cut work forces.” Peter Travers at Rolling Stone gave it another A-. He stated that it was, “a transporting comedy.”
Amy Biancolli over at the San Francisco Chronicle gave it an A. She said, “Crisply funny and fleetly paced, it’s in its quiet way one of the saddest things in the theaters all year.”
USA Today’s Claudia Puig gave it an A rating. She stated, “It’s tough to capture an era while it’s still happening, yet Up in the Air does so brilliantly, with wit and humanity.”
