Top critics gave ‘Date Night’ movie pretty damn good reviews. 20th Century Fox released their new action/comedy movie entitled, “Date Night” into theaters today,and the top movie critics in the business appear to have been quite impressed with it,giving it some pretty damn good reviews. It got As and Bs across the board,and only one C. The movie stars: Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Leighton Meester, Common, Taraji Henson, Kristen Wiig, Ray Liotta, Mila Kunis, Mark Ruffalo, William Fichtner, and Olivia Munn.
Wesley Morris from the Boston Globe gave it a C. He said, it “manages to live down to its store-brand title.” Roger Ebert over at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a strong A- rating. He stated, “Date Night is funny because, against all odds, it is involving.”
Michael Phillips at the Chicago Tribune gave it a B-. He said, it was “a product substantially inferior to the material routinely finessed by Carell and Fey, on their respective hit shows, into comic gold.”
Lisa Schwarzbaum at “Entertainment Weekly” gave it a B. She said, it was “a conservative comedy with mainstream values and easy-to-follow lessons.” Frank Scheck from the Hollywood Reporter gave it a B rating,stating, “Steve Carell and Tina Fey make a terrific comic pairing in this entertaining if overly familiar comic thriller.
