Top critics gave new Expendables movie positive reviews. Lionsagate released their new action flick “Expendables” into theaters today,and the top movie critics thought it was pretty good,giving it mostly positive B ratings across the board. The movie possesses an all-star cast,which includes: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, David Zayas, Giselle Itie, Charisma Carpenter, Gary Daniels, Terry Crews, and Mickey Rourke.
Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it a B rating. He said, “It’s reprehensible. It’s stoopid violent. It’s a lot of unholy fun.” Michael Phillips at the Chicago tribune gave it a C. He stated, “Is it fun? Sort of. But it shoulda coulda been a ton of fun.”
Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B. He said, “The way that Stallone directs, though, every machete thrust and relentless round of bullet spray is staged with a certain undeniable conviction.”
Bill Gibron at Filmcritic.com gave it a B+. He stated, “the best action film of the summer.” Sheri Linden at the Hollywood Reporter gave it another positive B rating. She said, “The body count is high and the personalities click in this old-school testosterone fest.”
