Top critics gave new Paranormal Activity 2 movie mixed reviews. Paramount Pictures released their new horror,thriller,sequel flick “Paranormal Activity 2” into theaters today,and the top movie critics seemed to be pretty mixed on it,giving it B and C ratings. The movie was directed by Kip Williams.
Roger Ebert at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a C-. He said, “There are six speaking roles, not counting the non-speaking baby and the dog. Good odds, you’d think, that at least one of them would have something interesting to say, but no.”
Peter Paras at E! Online gave it a B-. He stated, “the last act ends up delivering, with terrifying moments that raise the bar for modern horror.” Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B+. He said, “It made me jump, sweat, and chew my fingernails.”
Claudia Puig at USA Today gave it a B rating. He said, “has more innocent victims and more scares than its predecessor.” Bill Goodykoontz at Arizona Republic gave it a B. He said, “It delivers its considerable moments of terror in the same way the original film did. But it does deliver.”
Dennis Harvey at Variety gave it a C. He stated, “Picture fares like most horror follow-ups, offering more of the same to somewhat diminished effect.” Roger Moore at the Orlando Sentinel gave it another C. He said, “A confident, cocky and often comic promenade down the same primrose path.”
Joe Neumaier at the New York Daily News gave it a C+.
