Top Critics Gave New Saw 7, 3D Movie Pretty Negative Reviews
Top critics gave new Saw 7, 3D movie pretty negative reviews. Lionsgate released their new 3D horror flick “Saw 3D” into theaters today. It’s the 7th and final installment for the franchise, and the top movie critics don’t seem to be pleased with it at all,so far, giving it mostly D ratings. Only five reviews are in right now,but they’re all very bad. The movie stars: Tobin Bell, Cary Elwes, Costas Mandylor, Betsy Russell, and Sean Patrick Flanery.
Frank Scheck at the Hollywood Reporter gave it a C-. He said, “The filmmakers’ cleverness seems to be lagging here, as most of the traps lack the Rube Goldberg-style cleverness that marked the series, although the blood and guts quotient certainly remains high.”
Kim Newman at Empire gave it a C-. He stated, “There are a scattering of infallibly cringe-making horrors, but on the whole Saw 3D could do with more depth.” Rob Nelson from Variety gave it a D. He said, “Less soap-operatic than the five previous sequels, Saw 3D gets down to gruesome business, torturing the viewer with disgusting setpieces that bring the pain as close to one’s eyeballs as current technology will allow.”
Roger Moore at the Orlando Sentinel gave it a D-. He stated, “It’s all bunk and has been for years.” Elizabeth Weitzman at the New York Daily News gave it another D-. She said, “The performances have become painfully stilted, while the script is a jumble of nothing punctuated by barely-trying death traps.
It’s also disappointing to watch a once-original franchise morph into a generic slasher series, in which random people are killed in banal ways just to up the body count.” “Saw 3D” movie is in theaters now.
