‘Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark’ movie delivered tons of thrills & very weird ending
FilmDistrict released their new horror flick “Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was really good. However, they really pissed me off with the weird ending, and if you guys watch it,I’m sure it will piss you off too. Anyways, the movie stars: Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison, and Jack Thompson.
In the flick, a little girl named Sally goes to live with her dad Alex and his girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes) in some old 19th Century house they were restoring. Sally is already sad and depressed to be away from her mother. However, that doesn’t compare to the crap she’s about to go through in this crappy house.
Sally eventually starts hearing little whispering voices, which lead her to a basement that was locked and covered up to be hidden,so no one could come upon the terrible creatures that lie beneath it. Unfortunately,Sally finds it,and gets her dad to break through the walls that covered it up.
Eventually Sally, with fascination, rips the thick, iron vent cover that trapped the creatures from escaping, and they started haunting Sally every chance they got ,while she’s in the dark. At one point, Alex makes Sally see a psychiatrist because he thinks she’s making up the creatures in her mind.
Kim eventually stumbles upon some research that reveals the creatures Sally’s been seeing, are well documented by people who lived in the house in the past. The movie eventually leads up to a big horrifying conclusion as the creatures try to take Sally away forever. However, Kim gets involved to help out,but things don’t end well for one of them, and I’m still confused as to what happened. I’m serious. I really need the director,or the producer of this film to come explain to me what the hell happened because I’m pissed. You just can’t end a movie like that. Come on!
Anyways, I thought the movie was fun and spooky to watch. It had a lot of great thrilling moments. It was good to see Katie Holmes back to work on the big screen. She did a good job in the flick. I gave the movie and A grade even with the crappy ending. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
