New ‘Prometheus’ movie delivered great thrills, action, drama, special effects & more. 20th Century Fox released their new sci/thriller flick “Prometheus” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and I thought it was really good.
The plot was quite interesting,and it also delivered some wicked, special effects,action,drama,and thrilling scenes. It stars: Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green,and Charlize Theron.
In the flick, a group of scientist and explorers,get woken up on a spaceship named Prometheus after taking a two year trip to a far-off planet called distant moon LV-223. The project was funded with a trillion dollars according to one of the characters. Immediately after being woken up from stasis, the scientists and crewmembers were given their orders for the exploration mission to find humanity’s forerunners, the “Engineers.”
They are told not to make direct contact with anything. Later on, they explore a cave with android David 8, and discover remains of a dead alien and other weird stuff,including leaking cylinders. After that, they hurried back to the spaceship when a huge static storm arrived. David 8 sneaks one of the strange cylinders onboard and purposely infects one of the scientists named Charlie Holloway with dark liquid that oozed from it.
Later on, Holloway and Elizabeth Shaw (Noomi Rapace) have sex,causing Halloway to get pregnant with an alien baby. Halloway eventually gets worse and has Vickers (Charlize Theron) burn him to death with a fire torch. Also, two other explorers get killed by alien,snake-like,creatures in the cave.
At this point, David 8 tells Shaw, she’s three months pregnant with the alien baby. When he refuses to help her, she eventually uses an automatic operating table to remove the creepy alien baby from her stomach. After that, she realizes she doesn’t want to be there anymore,and is basically ready to get the hell out. However, it wasn’t that easy.
Eventually, Shaw ,David 8,and a couple other people end up back in the cave,and realize it’s actually an alien spaceship, buried underground. They wake one of the aliens up to ask for help,and he starts killing them off. Shaw escapes. This leads up to the huge conclusion that leaves Shaw as the only survivor along with a decapitated,talking, David 8, android head, who ends up being Shaw’s only hope of getting off the God-Forsaken planet.
Again, it was a really good and interesting movie to watch. I really liked Noomi Rapace’s performance in this. I never knew who she was before this movie,but she’s a very passionate actress and cute as hell. Charlize did a good job as the bitchy Meredith Vickers. Idris Elba brought some humor to the Captain Janek role.
