New ‘Rock Of Ages’ Movie Delivered Great Comedy,Drama,Music & More
New ‘Rock Of Ages’ movie delivered great comedy, drama, music & more. New Line Cinema released their new musical/comedy/drama flick “Rock Of Ages” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and it turned out to be we better than I thought it would be. It was very moving.
I’m also not a fan of rock music, but they made me like it a little bit. The movie stars: Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Akerman, Mary J. Blige, Alec Baldwin, and Tom Cruise.
In the new movie, sweet Sherrie Christian (Julianne Hough) moves to Los Angeles from smalltown Oklahoma in search of fortune fame, and love. Unfortunately she was introduced to a mugging upon arrival. However, character Drew Boley (Diego Boneta), dashed to her rescue, getting her a job, waitressing at the legendary night club called “The Bourbon Room.”
The owner of the club, Dennis (Alec Baldwin) was currently struggling to keep the place open, while evil Patricia Whitmore wanted to shut the place down, and also had a vicious vendetta against Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise).
Dennis is counting on Stacee Jaxx appearance to revitalize the joint, and bring in enough money to pay off some bills. However, he has to deal with Stacee’s sheisty manager Paul Gill. Sherrie eventually falls in love with Drew and helps him get his first gig, opening up for Stacee Jaxx at the “Bourbon Room.”
Eventually, the big night happens. Drew and his band deliver a great opening performance. However, Drew sees Sherrie, exiting Stacee Jaxx dressing room with his pants unbuttoned, and gets the wrong idea. He eventually blows up at Sherrie, and breaks her sweet little heart. Meanwhile, Stacee’s manager Paul lies to Dennis, telling him Stacee demanded all the clubs earnings that night, which left Dennis in the hole.
Paul also promises Drew a great career as a rock star after seeing his awesome performance. However, things don’t turn out that way, and Drew finds himself in a cheesy rapping boyband group. Sherrie, now all distraught and upset, becomes a stripper to earn some much needed cash.
Eventually the two kids see the error of their ways, and find their way back to each other. Stacee finds out what his manager Paul did to the club, and makes things right, including firing Paul.
It all concludes with Stacee, overhearing Drew perform a song he wrote, along with Sherrie, onstage, and they end up on tour with Stacee. So,it was a very movie, very touching,happy-filled, ending.
I really enjoyed watching this movie. It delivered a lot of comical moments with comedian Russell Brand and Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx. The whole rapping boyband twist was extremely funny too. There’s also a part where Stacee converts evil Patricia Whitmore back into a groupie fan,,which you could just always tell was coming. Inside her tough exterior, she was always drooling like the rest of them.
It also served up a lot of musical numbers, which were a bit annoying, but all the funny and interesting dialogue, made up for it. I gave this flick a surprising A grade. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here.
