New ‘Dead Man Down’ Movie Delivered Intense Action,Violence,Drama & More
New ‘Dead Man Down’ movie delivered intense action, violence, drama & more. FilmDistrict released their new action/thriller/drama flick “Dead Man Down” into theaters this weekend. I just watched it,and thought it was actually sort of boring for the most part. It did have its moment where it served up some good action, but for the most part,it was just long, drawn out ,uninteresting, dialogue scenes, which I cannot stand. The movie stars: Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace, Dominic Cooper, Terrence Howard, and Isabelle Huppert.
In the new flick, character Victor (Colin Farrell) is a rising gangland player, and has infiltrated the crime empire run by ruthless kingpin ,Alphonse (Terrence Howard), with the single purpose of making Alphonse pay for destroying his once happy life. As Victor meticulously orchestrates his vengeance from his high-rise home,he watches and is watched by Beatrice (Noomi Repace), a mysterious young woman who lives in the apartment across from his.
Beatrice seems nice at first, but after setting up a meeting with Victor, she reveals that she just wanted to meet him,so she could get him to kill the man who was responsible for messing up her face in a drunk driving incident, and that she’s blackmailing him into doing it, because she has a video of him murdering a man.
However, their common goal of revenge actually brings them together. As the movie rolled slowly along, serving up tons of boring dialogue, we finally edged closer to the conclusion, which is where it really got good. One of Alphonse’s men ,Darcy, who was also a good friend of Victor’s ,discovers who Victor really is and his dastardly plan to take out Alphonse.
This sets into motion a big drama-filled conclusion, where Darcy kidnaps Beatrice and threatens to kill her if Victor doesn’t meet him, along with Alphonse and his other men at a specified location. From there, Victor storms the place, starting a blazing series of wild gun shootouts in an effort to save Beatrice and also take out Alphonse ,once and for good, all at the same time.
Again, for the most part, I thought the movie was quite boring, but did have its moments where it served up great action and drama, especially towards the end. I really enjoyed the conclusion. Unfortunately, most of the in between stuff had me dosing off for minutes on end. Some movies just don’t do a good job with the build-up,and this was definitely one of them.
I thought Noomi Repace looked hot in a couple of the scenes as Beatrice, and she did a good job with the role. Unfortunately, though, I have to give this flick a C- grade. Stay tuned. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Tumblr by Clicking Here.
