New The Host Movie Delivered Very Deep Story,Drama,Special Effects & More
New The Host movie delivered very deep story, drama, special effects & more. Open Road Films released their new drama/fantasy flick “The Host” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was ok. It served up a lot of drama, some action, and a semi-interesting plotline. It stars: Saoirse Ronan, Max Irons, Jake Abel, Diane Kruger, William Hurt, and Frances Fisher.
In the new flick, Earth has been inhabited by an intelligent alien species known as “Souls.” They are an incredibly peaceful race. However, they can only survive by being inserted into a host body, taking control of their minds. In an effort to discover the secret whereabouts of some of the last remaining human resistances, the Soul, named Wanderer, was inserted into a human being, named Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan), who was captured while attempting to locate her family.
However, after insertion, Wanderer finds out that Melanie has not faded away in consciousness, and has actually started putting up walls in her mind to prevent her family from being found. Eventually Wanderer starts to work with Melanie to locate her family.
Once Wanderer/Melanie finds her family, they aren’t met with kindness as they think Wanderer is evil and that Melanie is completely gone. Fortunately, Wanderer is eventually able to convince Melanie’s family that she is there to help them, and that Melanie is still alive within her.
Unfortunately, a villain soul, named Seeker, is still trying to hunt them down to regain access to Wanderer, and will stop at nothing to do it. Eventually, with the help of Wanderer, they are able to capture the Seeker. From there, Wanderer teaches them how to safely extract the souls from humans, giving them their lives back, including Melanie’s.
Again, I thought the movie was ok. I’ve seen much worse. It delivered a lot of emotion as the family grew to love Wanderer as much as they loved Melanie. I never got bored by the movie as the plotline was just interesting enough to keep me tuned in. it also served up some intense action moments that were pretty good.
It was very deep too as it dealt with a lot of spiritualism, souls, and things of that nature. I gave the movie a solid B- grade. Stay tuned. Follow us on Twitter by Clicking Here. Follow us on Facebook by Clicking Here. Follow us on Tumblr by Clicking Here.
