New San Andreas Movie Delivered Great Thrills,Suspense,Drama & More
New Line Cinema (Warner Bros) and Village Roadshow Pictures released their new action/thriller flick, “San Andreas,” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was excellent, serving up a ton of thrilling and suspenseful scenes. It stars: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Alexandra Daddario, Paul Giamatti, Carla Gugino, Kylie Minogue, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, Hugo Johnstone-Burt, and Art Parkinson.
The movie opens up with a hardcore, suspenseful scene right off the bat when a young teenage girl gets caught in a San Fernando Valley rock slide, causing her car to get stuck on the side of a canyon with just mere moments to spare before she plunged to her freaking death.
Chief Raymond ‘Ray’ Gaines (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) and his team is sent to rescue her in a helicopter just in the nick of time. From there, the next big earthquake goes down at the Hoover Dam, killing Caltech seismologist, Dr. Kim Park after he rescues a young girl. This leaves his colleague ,Lawrence Hayes (Giamatti), left to pick up the pieces.
Shortly after that, Lawrence and his team discover that a major shift is going on at the San Andreas fault, causing a massive 9.1 earthquake that tears up major cities along the fault line. Raymond’s daughter, Blake and ex-wife, Emma get caught up in the quake and all of the madness that it causes.
However, Raymond is eventually able to rescue Emma just in the nick of time before the building she’s on totally collapses. Meanwhile, Blake is trapped in a car that’s about to get crushed in a parking garage of major skyscraper after Emma’s current boyfriend, Daniel, cowards out and leaves her behind.
Fortunately, Blake is rescued by a British guy named Ben and his younger brother, Ollie, who she met earlier. After that, Blake uses all the skills that Raymond taught her to help Ben and Ollie stay safe through all of the earthquake and tsunami madness that followed.
Then everything culminated in a major, suspenseful conclusion that puts Blake in a near death situation and Raymond having to dig deeper than he’s ever dug before to find a way to rescue her before it’s too late. And it totally came down to the wire, leaving me on the edge of my seat, hoping he could pull it off.
Again, I really enjoyed every minute of this movie as it was the type of flick that just stirred up a lot of suspense from beginning to end with all of the earthquakes and such. They also had a bit comic relief segments thrown in their for good measure.
I thought Dwayne “The Rock” really did a good job with this. I mean he’s really good in these high action, suspense movies. It seems like I see him in just about everything these days. Anyways, I definitely give this movie an A grade for just sheer entertainment. Stay tuned. Also, get your favorite Movie stuff, and more by Clicking Here.
