As most of you already know, Colton Underwood from this past 2018 edition of the Bachelorette is the new Bachelor. Chris had some remarkable things to say about Colton. Chris said, “I don’t really need to pump this season up that much because of what your about to see. We start January 7th. That’s our premiere, and Colton. I’m excited for everyone to get to see who he really is. The man. He reminds me a little bit of Sean Lowe. When everyone kind of thought they knew Sean, but didn’t really get to know him until his season. That’s the way it is for Colton.

Once you get to see him and know him, I think A: everyone is going to fall in love with him. And B: really respect the fact he is so open, so vulnerable, so emotional. It’s a pretty gut-wrenching, wild ride with him.

I really got to know Colton. I feel like I really didn’t get to know him during the Bachelorette and during Paradise. But, I feel like I really did get to know the man. This season, we spent a lot of time together, traveling and all that. And that’s just the way it goes at work. I do, I like him. I respect him. He’s a good man, and I’m really eager for everybody to get to see what I saw.”

Next, Nina asked Chris if the 2019 edition of “The Bachelor” is going to be tapered back in regards to the romantic escapades since Colton is a proud virgin? Chris said, “That’s up to him. One of the great things about the fantasy suite and those overnight dates. It’s always this kind of moral dilemma and question for who you are. Whether you’re the Bachelorette, Bachelor. You know? What do you do with that time? Just go in there and talk? Do whatever you wanna do. It’s that time you get off camera.

There are obviously conversations that need to be had because Colton has been very vocal about the fact that he is a virgin. So, how does that affect the relationship? How do the women handle it? How does he handle it? What I’m really excited about is diving into that this season, and going beyond the, ‘Oh, he’s the virgin.’ And it’s kind of this funny topic and it’s not.

I went to him and said,’Look man. Are you pissed off? Are you tired of all this? Of everyone kind of making fun of you? And making fun of questioning your sexuality? Questioning if you’re a man? All of this stuff? And Colton really opens up. I think people are going to be blown away by him.

Next, Chris was asked, “Do you think there will ever be a black Bachelor?” Chris responded with, ” Sure, absolutely. I mean no reason not to. My thing has always been. Like with Rachel Lindsey. I’m glad that Rachel wasn’t the first, black Bachelorette, I’m glad that she was the right woman. She was an extraordinary woman, smart, beautiful, charismatic, funny. All those things. She’s an amazing woman. That’s what I want. The same thing for a man. When we do have, and we will. I just want want it to be a great man and a good man. And if he happens to be black, right.”
