Fortnite Reportedly About To Introduce A New, Major Ice Storm Event
Happy Wednesday, “Fortnite” fans. We’ve got what could be a major update to report to you guys in this article. The folks over at express.co.uk are reporting that a Major Battle Royale leak has revealed that a new Fortnite Ice Storm event might be getting ready to release!
The new Ice Storm event is scheduled launch with a couple of challenges and rewards. It’s believed that the Ice King will be featured in the event. It’s also expected to tie into the giant Ice Sphere that has appeared above Polar Peak.
As of right now, it is unknown when this Ice Storm event will launch. It’s also possible that the new event will introduce us to the new season 8! The Ice Storm event is rumored to contain 13 challenges. Once players have completed all the Ice Storm challenges, the Winter’s Thorn Glider is supposed to get unlocked along with possibly the Blue Metallic Wrap award.
Express.co.uk pointed out that a couple of possible Ice Storm challenges have been leaked. They are: Deal damage to the Ice Legion. Deal damage to the Ice Legion in a single match. Deal damage with Explosive Weapons to the Ice Legion. Deal damage with Assault Rifles or Pistols to the Ice Legion. Deal damage with Shotguns or SMGs to the Ice Legion and Destroy an Ice Shard in different matches.
They also said the recent 7.20 update apparently released new skins, but players found something else in this update. It added the Scoped Revolver weapon and the Glider Redeploy item. Players also explored the update files and located new skins and items that are coming to Fortnite in the upcoming weeks.
Some additional info from Fortniteintel.com reveals that there was a “No Signal” image that showed up in the game, and that it could hint to the rumored Ice Storm Event. There were other images that hinted towards a “weather warning” with icons of snowflakes sprinkled across the graphics.
A poplular Fortnite leaker named Lucas7yoshi found a set of files that featured an Ice Sphere that is now above Polar Peak. Then he tweeted it out saying, “Polar Peak sphere will break:” You guys can view that tweet on Lucas7yoshi’s official Instagram account by Clicking Here.
The Ice Sphere will supposedly break apart during the reported Ice Storm, in-game event! Lucas7yoshi went on to post five different animations which could hint more towards the Ice Storm event. You can view them on his Twitter account by Clicking Here.
It’s believed that the new Ice Storm event will lead towards a new LTM featuring the Ice King, where he is featured in Week 7 and 8’s loading screen.
