‘America’s Got Talent’ August 14, 2019 Eliminated 5 Acts In Quarterfinals 1 (Recap)
Hey, “America’s Got Talent” fans. Tonight, August 14, 2019, the first results show for the quarterfinal rounds did indeed air, and five acts were unfortunately eliminated when it was all said and done. All the judges: Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough and Simon Cowell were on hand.
Tonight’s results show kicked off with a brief recap of last night’s performances.Right after that, host Terry Crews got right down to business by bringing the 12 acts on stage to see who America voted through to the semifinal rounds.
He also revealed that there was a glitch that occurred in the voting last night, which meant that the judges wouldn’t get to use their special “save” this week.
The top 6 acts based on America’s vote advanced to the semifinals. Then the 7th, 8th and 9th place acts were included in something called the Dunkin’ Save.
The Dunkin’ Save gave the viewing audience a chance to vote for those three acts LIVE. The top vote getter would advance to the semifinals. The 7th, 8th and 9th place acts turned out to be: Ansley Burns, Emerald Belles and Sophie Pecora.
After that was revealed, they brought back season 1 winner Bianca Ryan, season 13’s violinist Brian King Joseph and season 11’s contortionist Sofie Dossi on to the stage to perform together. Bianca sang “You’re No Good” by Linda Ronstadt.
Next, host Terry Crews revealed that Alex Dowis was voted by America to advance to the semifinals, and poor Carmen Carter was eliminated. Right after that, Terry revealed that Luke Islam made it to the semifinals, and the poor GForce teen girl, dance group got eliminated.
From there, they brought back last year’s champion Shin Lim to do a special, magical performance. He brought comedian Jay Leno on to the stage to help with his act.
Once that was all wrapped up, Terry revealed that both Kodi Lee and “Voices of Service” had advanced to the semifinal rounds. Right after that, Terry revealed that the Massoudi Brothers advanced to the semifinals as well. Then Julianne told them, “Amp up the danger.”
Next,Terry revealed that comedian Greg Morton advanced to the semifinals, and that poor Bir Khalsa was eliminated. Howie told Greg, “I’m thrilled for you, and don’t be afraid to reach out to others for great material.”
After all of that, it was time for them to reveal who won the special Dunkin’ Save vote. Again, it was between Ansley Burns, Emerald Belles or Sophie Pecora. They were the 7th, 8th and 9th place vote getters from the America’s vote that took place last night.
Terry revealed that Ansley Burns won the special Dunkin’ Save vote to scrape her way into the semifinals.
Unfortunately, this also meant that poor Emerald Belles and Sophie Pecora were indeed eliminated tonight. It’s unfortunate that the judges couldn’t save someone tonight because I think they probably would’ve saved Sophie. I would have liked to have seen her advance. Oh well.
So, just to recap, the top 7 acts that are advancing to the semifinals out of this batch of 12 acts is: blacklight artist Alex Dowis, singer Luke Islam, singing group “Voices of Service,” singer/pianist Kodi Lee, hand balancers Massoudi Brothers, comedian Greg Morton and singer Ansley Burns.
The acts that were unfortunately eliminated tonight are: singer Carmen Carter, girl group GFORCE, danger act Bir Khalsa, singer/songwriter Sophie Pecora and the high kick dance group Emerald Belles.
