New Movies Releasing In Theaters January 3, 4 & 5, 2020 Weekend Revealed

Hey, fellow movie goers. In this article, we’re going to tell you what new movies are releasing nationwide in theaters this weekend, January 3,4 and 5, 2020. The movies that we’re going to cover in this segment are only the ones that are releasing nationwide.

Occasionally, we’ll mention the ones that are limited release, but only if they have plans to expand nationwide.

We don’t really fool with the limited release films because they tend to usually not have a lot of interest surrounding them. Again, there are rare ones that start out limited and expand to a wide release. We will cover those when they come out.

With that said, we only have one movie that’s releasing nationwide in theaters for the January 3-5, 2020 weekend, and it’s “The Grudge” reboot movie. That’s right, guys. Sony Pictures and Ghost House Pictures have teamed up to bring this franchise back to life.

It stars: Andrea Riseborough, Demian Bichir, Lin Shaye, John Cho, Betty Gilpin and Jacki Weaver. It was directed by Nicolas Pesce. Jeff Buhler and Nicolas Pesce did the screenwriting for it.

It’s, of course, classified as a horror/thriller flick. So, we’re going to start off the new 2020 year with some horror. Yes indeed.

We searched around for an official plotline for this movie. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much out there, but here is what we were able to gather up. The events of this film will take place at around the same time as the original 2004 Grudge movie.

This is the 4th installment for The Grudge movie series. It’s a reimagining of the original Grudge movie that revolved around a curse that is born when someone dies in the grip of extreme rage or sorrow.

The curse is an entity created where the person died. Those who encounter this supernatural force die, and the curse is reborn repeatedly. Then it passes from victim to victim in an endless, growing chain of horror.

I saw the original 2004 “The Grudge” movie , and it was definitely very intense and suspenseful. So, I would venture to say that’s what you can expect to see in this one. This reboot was also produced by Sam Raimi. He makes some scary stuff.

There is a movie trailer for this movie. You can view it over on Youtube by Clicking Here.
