The Bachelor February 1, 2021 Eliminated Mari, Catalina, Lauren, Victoria & Anna (Recap)
Hey, Bachelor Nation fans. Tonight, February 1, 2021, another new episode of The Bachelor 2021 edition with headliner Matt James did indeed air, and some more unlucky women got the boot before it was all wrapped up.
Tonight’s episode kicked off with the action picking up from where last week’s episode left off with Matt reacting to Katie telling him that a couple of the girls are bullying people and causing a toxic environment in the house.
The women were seen talking about it just before Matt showed up to give his big speech about how he felt about the women bullying each other. He straight up told them he’s not looking for a wife that feels the need to bully others to shine.
After that, he talked 1 on 1 with Brittany. She told him how Anna claimed she heard Brittany was an escort. From there, Brittany started to tear up , and she told Matt she was really hurt by it.
Matt told Brittany, “I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with that. Those things can ruin people’s lives. I’m glad you told me so we can deal with it.”
Meanwhile, Anna was seen scrambling and wondering about what to do because she knew Brittany was ratting her out to Matt.
Then, Matt came to talk with Anna. She told him, “I’m so sad and upset with myself. I completely apologize for what I said. It’s on me. I feel so horrible about it. That was my worst moment.”
Matt told Anna, “You’re not a horrible person. I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve said things I’m not proud of, but I do owe it to the other ladies and myself to follow my heart. Unfortunately, I can’t see you being part of that journey anymore.”
After that, Anna cried as Matt walked her out to her exit car. Matt told the private cams, “Anna said something that was out of character, but the damage has been done. I owe it to the ladies to create a safe space for them, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna do.”
Matt hugged Anna goodbye. Anna told the private cams, “One dumb decision can take you down. I’m going to go cry in my shower.”
Next, Ryan told Matt some of the horrible things Victoria has been saying. Matt definitely expressed that he didn’t like that. Ryan went back and let Victoria know that she told Matt all the horrible things she’s been saying about her. Victoria , of course, got really ticked off at Ryan about that.
Victoria talked to Matt,and told him, “There’s things I can work on.” Matt definitely told Victoria he had a problem with her calling Ryan a ho for being a dancer. Victoria said, “That was totally taken out of context.”
Matt didn’t buy that excuse and said, “I have some things to think about.” From there, Matt had host Chris Harrison tell the women that the cocktail party was over, and the rose ceremony is about to begin.
Victoria went outside and started saying all kinds bad things about the other women while talking to herself. Then she said, “I’ll literally die if I have to leave the show this way.”
At the rose ceremony, Matt gave roses to: Brittany, Ryan, Rachael, Serena P, Magi, Kit, MJ, Jessenia, Katie, Abigail, Chelsea and Serena C.
That means poor Mari, Catalina, and Lauren didn’t get arose along with crazy Victoria. Mari, Catalina and Lauren exited with class by giving Matt a hug and wishing him good luck, but Victoria certainly did not.
She refused to give Matt a hug, and she told him, “I feel so sorry for you that you wouldn’t listen to all the facts about the situation.”
Victoria told the private cams of Matt, “He’s not my king, and I’m still a queen. I feel sorry for you and your choices. I brought so many people joy. Matt’s not the guy for me.”
Next, Chris Harrison brought the women the new date card. It revealed that Rachael got a 1 on 1 date with Matt.
During their date, Matt greeted Rachael with a hug and a kiss. Then, he took her to try on some new clothes and to basically have a shopping spree. At one point, he got her a new pair of shoes and she was ecstatic. They kissed in that moment.
During the second half of their date, they had drinks. Matt asked Rachael, “Why do you feel like you haven’t been in love before?” Rachael said, “I don’t have a lot of confidence in myself. I need to work on it and get rid of my self doubt.”
Matt said, “I find you attractive, and you always catch my attention. You’re so sure of yourself, and I love that about you.”
Rachael said, “I get butterflies with you. I’m falling in love with you, and I’m ready to spend my life with you.” Matt said, “I feel the same way,” and they kissed.
Matt told Rachael, “I’m falling in love with you too. Will you accept this rose?” She said yes, and they kissed. Matt told the private cams, “Rachael is someone I could see getting down on one knee at the end of this and proposing to.”
Next, Matt took: Serena P, Bri, Katie, Pieper, Serena C, Ryan, Michelle, Brittany, Abigail, Chelsea, Jessenia and MJ on a group date.
During it, they went to a farm to perform different farming activities. At one point, Matt was seen kissing Pieper, and that made the other girls start to feel bad as they realized that they are really competing for the same guy. I was like, “Duh, it’s the Bachelor TV show.”
Anyways, during the afterparty, Matt talked 1 on 1 with Chelsea at one point. Matt told Chelsea, “I feel comfortable around you.” She said, “I like you, and I feel comfortable around you too.” Matt said, “I’m glad you’re here.” She said, “Thanks,” and they kissed.
Matt talked with Abigail . She told Matt, “I get the biggest smile on my face when I’m around you. My biggest fear is that I’ll disappoint you.” She said something about her dad not being there for her growing up and that it’s likely if she had kids they would be born deaf as well.
Matt said he can relate and that he feels good about her, and they kissed. He told the private cams, “I admired how Abigail opened up to me about her fears.”
Matt and Michelle talked about how hard this experience is, but Matt reassured her that he’s feeling the same way, and they kissed.
Matt talked with MJ. He told her that her name came up as one of the girls that was an antagonist and causing a divide in the house. She ,of course , found that very upsetting ,and she told Matt that’s not true and, he can trust her. Matt said, “I just felt like I needed to bring that up instead of holding inside.”
MJ was ticked off that her name was brought up in that fashion, and she went back and confronted the rest of the girls about it. Jessenia confessed to MJ that she was the one who mentioned her name, claiming that MJ said it was JV vs. Varsity.
So, they started arguing about that. Jessenia also asked MJ if she told Matt that she made comment about JV vs. Varsity. That made MJ even more angry, and they just kept bickering over it. Finally, Matt came back and gave Abigail the group date rose.
Next up, was the 1 on 1 date with Kit. Matt took Kit to cook at his place. They ended up baking some cookies, and they had a good time. They kissed multiple times while baking. Matt told the private cams, “It’s just easy with Kit.”
After baking, they talked. Kit told Matt, “You made me feel very much at home.” Matt said, “I like being around you because you’re you.” Kit said, “I’m surprised everyday how open I’ve been with you, and I am falling in love with you. I just want to fast forward this and go home with you.” Matt really like that, and he gave her a rose. Then they kissed. So, that date went very well.
Next, Matt sent a note to the house, which said, “MJ and Jessenia, I need to know the truth. Meet me at the cocktail party.”
MJ and Jessenia argued again while waiting for Matt to get there. Jessenia told MJ she led the division in the house by saying it’s JV vs Varsity. MJ said, “You hurt my character, and this is very embarrassing!”
They just kept bickering back and forth over who was right and who was wrong. Matt finally arrived, and we were given the “to be continued” treatment by ABC. So, we’ll have to wait until next week’s episode to see how that all plays out.
Just to recap, Matt eliminated: Mari, Catalina, Lauren, Victoria and Anna during this episode.
The next, new episode of The Bachelor 2021 edition with Matt James is scheduled to air next Monday night, February 8, 2021 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC.
