The Bachelor January 3, 2022 Eliminated 9 Women In Premiere Episode (Recap)

Hey, “The Bachelor” fans. Tonight, January 3, 2022, The Bachelor 2022 edition with headliner Clayton Echard did finally premiere, and a couple of women did get sent packing.

Tonight’s premiere episode kicked off with the new host of the show Jesse Palmer introducing himself. He was a former Bachelor. So, he’s not a total stranger to the show. Next, we got the intro for Clayton Echard along with an intro segment for a couple of the ladies that will by competing for Clayton’s heart.

After all of that, something very interesting and different happened. One of the girls named Salley already started feeling like she shouldn’t be there before she ever even got to meet Clayton! She went to have a 1 on 1 talk with Clayton about her doubts. Clayton told her, “I already like what I’m seeing from you.” Salley said, “This conversation is making me feel good.” Clayton said, “I really want you to stay.” So, he gave her a rose.

Salley said, “I really want to accept that rose, but my heart is just not in the right place. I’m so sorry.” Clayton said, “That’s ok. Thanks for coming to talk with me,” and they hugged goodbye.

Clayton told the private cams, “Even though I’m the Bachelor, I still have to win the hearts of these women. It’s a two-way street.”

Clayton finally arrived at the mansion to meet Jesse. They were both nervous because it was Jesse’s first time to host The Bachelor. Next, the first limo full of women pulled up. Sarah was the first one to introduce herself. She told Clayton, “I brought us each a little tiger token” because both of their college football teams were named the Tigers.

Lyndsey W told Clayton, “I’m from the south, but you’re so tall you’ve got me looking all north.” Genevieve told Clayton, “I’m so excited to meet you and get to know you.”

Ency spoke to Clayton in a different language. Then later translated it saying, “I want to find a friendship with you that develops into a romantic love.”

Susie zapped Clayton with a joy-buzzer saying, “Did you feel the electricity between us?” Teddi told Clayton, “I heard you’re a big teddy bear. Hopefully ,soon, I’ll be your teddy bear.” Clayton told the private cams of Teddi, “She made me feel some type of way.”

Tessa told Clayton, “My name is asset spelled backwards.” So, that was pretty clever. Lindsay D told Clayton, “When I found out you were going to be the Bachelor, I was so excited.”

Daria told Clayton, “I’m wearing a rose necklace because my last name is Rose, and I hope to get a rose tonight.” Kate told Clayton, “You are a tall drink of water.” Then, she pulled out some mini-liquor bottle drinks, and they downed some shots together.

Sierra told Clayton, “I’m your future wife. I just came from the future. Let’s go back.” Melina ran and jumped into Clayton’s arms. Hailey brought Clayton a jar of pickles and asked him to open it for her.

Jill brought an urn of ashes. She said the ashes are her ex boyfriend. “I brought them here just in case you make the same mistake.”

Marlena told Clayton, “You are penalized 15 yards for being so fine.” Jane showed up in a classic car and told Clayton, ” “I’ve been called a cougar once or twice, but I like to consider myself vintage like a classic car.”

63 year old Holly showed up and told Clayton, “I’m a mother of two, and I want to have grandchildren.” Then, she introduced him to Rachel. Rachel told Clayton, “I’m a pilot, and Holly is my wing woman.”

Ivana didn’t talk at all. She just blew Clayton a kiss. Kira told Clayton, “I’m a doctor here to give you your full body physical.” She was also only wearing panties and a bra under her doctor’s gown. So, that was spicy.

Mara told Clayton, “I’m a little spicy and a little saucy.” Rianna showed up in a cowboy hat and told Clayton, “Originally, I was gonna ride a horse up here, but then I was like, why don’t we save a horse, and you can ride a cowgirl.”

Gabby brought a pillow that had his face on it, and she told Clayton, “I just want to sit on your face.” Hunter brought a snake. So, that definitely made an impression.

Samantha showed up in a tub ,and she was wearing a bikini. Cassidy showed up in a toy car. Then, Shanae drove a big pick up truck there and ran over Cassidy’s toy car.

After all of the wild and crazy introductions. Clayton went inside to greet the women. He told them, “I can’t wait to get to know each and everyone of you all. You really can find love here. I want to get down on one knee at the end of this. Cheers.”

Clayton talked with Susie. They seemed to have a good talk. Clayton talked with Elizabeth. She showed him a picture of her 100 year old grandfather and explained that there were a lot of little reasons that led to him meeting his wife. So, she told Clayton to hold on to the picture to remind him that everything happens for a reason.

Clayton talked with Teddi. Teddi told Clayton, “Here’s why I wanted it to be you because you’re really cute and have a kind smile. I feel like the spark is there.” Clayton definitely liked that, and they kissed.

Clayton talked with Kira. Kira told Clayton, “Let’s see if we can make your heart beat faster.” Then, they kissed. Clayton talked with Daria. She had them play some sort of game, which led to them kissing. Clayton talked with Mara.

At one point, Claire had started drinking and getting tipsy. That led to her telling some of the other girls that she didn’t like talking with Clayton. She said, “I would eat him and spit him out. I hated talking with him, but I’m not going to tell him.”

Serene took it upon herself to make sure Clayton knew what Claire was saying about him. She told Clayton that Claire was saying she hates him and so on and so forth. Obviously, Clayton found that to be very disturbing. So, he immediately pulled Claire aside to talk to her about it.

Clayton told Claire, “I heard that you said you hate me.” Claire said, “No , I don’t hate you. I just don’t think we’ve clicked. I don’t hate anybody.” Then, the next thing we saw, Clayton walked Claire out.

Then, he came back and told the other ladies that he sent Claire home saying, “I don’t think someone that doesn’t want to be here needs to be here when there are so many other people who want to be here. If there’s anyone else that wants to leave, let me know now.” All the other girls said they definitely wanted to stay.

After all of that, Clayton talked with Genevieve. She told Clayton, “I think you are very real and genuine.” Clayton said, “We’re going to have a lot of fun. I can tell. It was nice talking to you,” and they hugged.

Clayton talked with Rachel. They talked about jumping out of a plane and traveling. Then, they kissed. Rachel told the private cams, “I’m excited for what could be.”

Later, Clayton ended up giving Teddi the first impression rose saying, “From the moment you stepped out of the limo, I just couldn’t get you out of my mind. There was a clear connection.” Then, they kissed. Clayton told the private cams, “Teddi’s got me feeling some type of way.”

Finally, the rose ceremony took place, and Clayton gave: Serene, Susie, Eliza, Rachel, Ency, Sarah, Kate, Cassidy, Elizabeth, Kira, Shanae, Sierra, Mara, Marlena, Genevieve, Melina, Gabby, Jill, Lyndsey W., Hunter and Tessa a rose to join Teddi who got the first impression rose.

That means poor Hailey, Ivana, Jane, Lindsay D., Rianna, Samantha, and Daria did not get a rose. So, they made their exits to join Claire who got booted off earlier and Salley who chose to quit. Clayton told the remaining women, “I’m so excited about the potential here. Cheers to love.”

So, 9 women left the show during this premiere episode 1. That’s a lot. They’re not messing around this season.

The next, new episode of The Bachelor 2022 edition with headliner Clayton Echard is scheduled to air next Monday night, January 10, 2022 at approximately 7 pm central standard time on ABC.
