This Is Us Season 6, May 24, 2022 Episode 18 Is The Finale. Season 7 Is Not Happening
Hey, “This Is Us” fans. We totally hope that you guys enjoyed and really savored every single minute and second of tonight’s episode 18, especially since it’s not only the last episode for this current season 6, it’s the last one forever! That’s right, guys. Season 6 is indeed the very last season for This Is Us.
This decision was actually decided by the show’s creator Dan Fogelman according to the folks over at Deadline.com. They say that Fogelman always planned for This Is Us to end after the 6th season.
He considered it to be a limited-run series, and he sold it to NBC as a limited series. The contracts for the actors were also set to end after season 6. Fogelman talked to the press about the show ending after season 6 explaining, “That’s when the Pearson story will basically come to a close.”
Deadline also pointed out that This Is Us is still currently one of NBC’s highest-rated series. This last season 6 averaged 4.720 million LIVE viewers per episode, and a 0.80 ratings score for the 18-49 year old demographics. The most recent episode 17, which aired last Tuesday night, May 17, 2022, drew in 5.317 million LIVE viewers, and a 0.95 ratings score.
The most-viewed episode was the premiere episode 1 with 5.463 million LIVE viewers. The least-viewed episode was episode 8 with 4.175 million LIVE viewers.
The highest-rated episode was the premiere episode 1 with a 1.05 ratings score. The lowest-rated episode was episode 7 with a 0.67 ratings score. So, that’s it, guys. This Is Us performed very well for NBC right up until the very end. RIP “This Is Us.”
