Tonight’s new episode kicked off with Carson telling the private cams about how he flipped on Helen Li to get her out at the last tribal council meeting for the Tika tribe. He said, “I just didn’t trust Helen. Seeing her leave was a relief.”

Sarah told the private cams, “Carson is the most dangerous person right now. He’s the cute little nerd that everybody trust.” At the Soka tribe, people started to notice how close Matt B and Frannie are. Danny told the private cams that he’s happy about Matt and Frannie because they keep the target off him.

Danny also talked about how he found the key to get the immunity idol out of the locked bird cage. Then, locked it back up the way he found it so no one would notice. He even took a further step by re-hiding the key in the woods to make it appear that no one found it yet. Later, Matt B found Danny’s fake key.

Danny saw Matt B find his fake key and called him out about it in front of Josh. He tried to deny finding it at first, but then he eventually admitted to finding it, and he now thinks he has a real idol. Again, Matt B doesn’t really have an idol since Danny found it first and framed him into thinking he found it.

Over at the Ratu tribe, Matthew M also planted a fake idol to take the trail off him, and Jamie eventually found Matthew’s fake idol. She told Matthew about it, and he played along. He told the private cams, “I can go along with her and then turn on her by planting a target on her back. I didn’t come here to play an honest game.”

Next, host Jeff Probst showed up with the new immunity challenge, which also doubled as a Reward challenge. During it, they had to swim out to a big cube in the water. Then, they had to push it to a pole. Climb on top of the cube to retrieve a set of keys from the pole. Get out of the water. Dig their way through sand to crawl under a huge log to get to the other side of it. Then, use their keys to unlock some boxes. Then stack the boxes to solve a puzzle for the win.

Ratu finished it first for immunity and a reward. Tika finished second for immunity and a smaller reward. That means Soka lost and had to figure out who to send home for the first time this season. They also lost their flint for losing the challenge.

The reward was a large toolkit and large platter of fruit for the first place Ratu tribe. A smaller toolkit and smaller platter of fruit for the second place Tika tribe.

Danny told the private cams that the plan was to vote Claire out. Claire campaigned to Frannie to get Matt B out. Frannie told the private cams, “I wanna keep Claire in this game even though the plan was to get Claire out. I actually want to get Josh out.”

Claire caught wind of Josh and Danny’s plan to get her out, and she was pissed. Claire tried to get Heidi to go along with her plans to get Josh out because Heidi was the swing vote. Heidi said she was conflicted about who to vote out going into the tribal council meeting.

At the Soka tribal council meeting, Claire tried to sell that the real tribe strength isn’t brute strength. It’s trusting each other and sticking together. She said she didn’t feel good at all because her tribe was trying to claim she didn’t contribute by sitting out of all the immunity challenges, but she was claiming that she thought she was doing what was best for the tribe by sitting out.

After the votes were casts, Claire decide to play her shot in the dark, which gave her a 1 out of 6 chance of being safe. However, she drew a “not safe” card. So, all votes against her still counted.

Claire ended up getting 3 votes, which sent her packing. Jeff didn’t reveal who the other votes went to. Claire made a graceful exit saying, “Bye guys” on the way out. She told the private cams, “I got outplayed. I got eliminated. So, I’m so sad. It was an amazing experience. I just wish I got to see more.” How do you guys feel about Claire Rafson getting vote off in tonight’s episode of Survivor season 44? Let us know in the comments section.
