New 20/20 May 19, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We are back in your faces to let you know the ABC people will be dishing up another brand new episode of your favorite news show 20/20 tonight, May 19, 2023. Yes indeedy. This one will be the 32nd episode of 20/20’s current season 45 according to the TV guide listings, and we’ve got some new preview intel for it.
ABC served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new, May 19, 2023 installment. So, we will certainly reference it to deliver this new preview session. Let’s get to it.
To start, ABC revealed that tonight’s new episode is officially titled, “It Happened Here – A Year in Uvalde.” In tonight’s new episode, the 20/20 team is going to take a look at the aftermath of the town Uvalde, Texas after the terrible shooting, which killed 19 fourth grade students and two teachers at the Robb elementary school. 20/20 is going to talk with the families of the victims of the shooting and see how they’re coping with their loss one year after it happened.
This documentary is going to feature personal stories from members of the community like Felix Rubio, a deputy sheriff who resigned from his post, and his wife Kimberly, who moved their family to a different house because seeing their daughter’s bedroom was too much for her surviving children to bear.
They will take a look at 10 year old Caitlyne Gonzalez who travels across the country to fight for gun reform in the name of her friends who didn’t make it, Jazmin Cazares who struggles to navigate her senior year of high school while grieving the loss of her little sister; and Johnathan Hernandez, a U.S. Marine who continues to grapple with how to raise his son in a world with gun violence.
This episode will also take a look at surviving teacher Arnie Reyes as he attempts to recover from his physical injuries and the mental anguish of losing all 11 of his students.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new, May 19, 2023 episode of 20/20 reads like this, “On May 24, 2022, a senseless tragedy occurred in Uvalde, Texas, when a teenager opened fire in an elementary school, resulting in the deaths of 19 fourth grade students and two teachers.
Over the past year for ABC News’ “Uvalde: 365” initiative, ABC News’ Investigative Unit and “20/20” embedded in the community, following the families of victims and survivors of the Robb Elementary massacre as they cope with the loss of their loved ones and the inaction of the police, fight for justice, and try to begin their journey of healing.
This “20/20” report also provides an unprecedented and complete account of what happened on the day of the shooting, including new and exclusive interviews from those inside, previously unheard 911 calls, unreleased surveillance videos, and never-before-seen body camera footage and photographs.”
ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 is brand new again tonight, May 19, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV sets at approximately 8 pm central standard time. It will also be available the next day on Hulu.
