20/20 July 7, 2023 Episode Not New. It’s A Repeat. Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back in action to let you know that the folks over at ABC do have another episode of 20/20 all queued up and ready to go for you guys tonight, July 7, 2023. However, they’re going to be airing a repeat episode instead of a new one. If you guys have not seen this repeat episode, it still could be like a new one for you. So, definitely stick around for our preview of it.
We were able to get a hold of the official press release for tonight’s repeat episode of 20/20 from ABC. So, we’re going to let you know what it has to say for this preview session. Let’s get into it.
The first thing we got for tonight’s repeat episode of 20/20 is that it’s officially titled,”Laura Lee Day.” It originally aired way back on June 3, 2022.
In this repeat episode, the 20/20 team took a deep look at a story about a Texas housewife named Laura Day. She seemed to have the perfect life. She had a seemingly loving marriage to a man named David Syring and a close relationship with her 6 year old stepson Taylor Syring.
That all came to an end when Taylor drowned on a beach trip while out with Laura. During the investigation, the police found out that Laura had a very shocking criminal history! Laura was eventually convicted of first-degree capital murder for Taylor’s death.
ABC News anchor John Quinones handled the reporting duties for this episode. He interviewed Laura Day from prison, nearly a full decade after her conviction. In this interview, she gave her side of the story. She claimed she was innocent of Taylor’s death and that it was an accident. She also talked about her past crimes of bigamy and murder.
This repeat episode also featured interviews with: David; Kelly Syring, Taylor’s mother; and Britney Jensen, the prosecutor in Day’s trial. Additionally, the episode contains police footage of detectives interviewing Day, David, and key witness Rene Ruiz, who testified that he saw Day smiling as she drove her unconscious stepson away from the beach. It also reports how authorities believe Day killed Taylor to keep David to herself.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s repeat episode of 20/20 reads like this, “A young boy drowns on a beach trip with his stepmother. Tragic accident or something more sinister? ’20/20′ UNCOVERS HOW A TEXAS STEPMOTHER’S PICTURE-PERFECT LIFE MASKED A SHOCKING CRIMINAL PAST OF BIGAMY AND MURDER. This two-hour special features an interview with Laura Day, whose 6-year-old stepson suspiciously drowned under her supervision.”
ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be a repeat episode tonight, July 7, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV screens, starting at approximately 8pm central standard time.
