48 hours July 29, 2023 Episode Not New. It’s A Repeat. Preview Revealed
Hey, “48 Hours” fans. We are back at you on this lovely Saturday to inform you that the CBS folks do have another 48 Hours episode lined up and ready to go for you guys tonight, July 29, 2023. However, this episode will not be new once again. Yep, CBS is dishing up another repeat episode this week, but you might still want to stick around because you might not have seen this particular repeat episode.
The CBS people served up some new preview information for tonight’s July 29, 2023 repeat episode via an official press release. So, we’re going to certainly pull it up to deliver this preview session. Let’s get into it.
To start, CBS let us know that tonight’s ,July 29, 2023 repeat episode of 48 Hours is officially labeled/titled, “The Tree That Helped Solve a Murder.” It originally aired way back on December 10, 2022.
In tonight’s July 29, 2023 repeat episode, the 48 Hours team took a deep look at a story about a man named Joseph Elledge. Back on October 10, 2019, Joseph reported that his wife Mengqi Ji had gone missing. He went on to tell the police that he thought Mengqi may have left him to go be with another man that she met online.
Months after that, investigators finally found Mengqi’s body buried under a juniper tree. Earlier in the investigation, the investigators had found a pair of muddy boots that belonged to Joseph. These same boots had several juniper tree needles in the soles of them.
DNA from those needles were eventually linked to the tree that was directly above Mengqi’s shallow grave. That DNA gave prosecutors enough evidence to convict Joseph of murdering his wife Mengqi. 48 Hours correspondent Peter Van Sant handled the reporting duties for this episode.
CBS’ official description for tonight’s July 29, 2023 repeat episode of 48 Hours reads like this, “Juniper needles stuck to the bottom of a man’s boots link him to his wife’s murder when her body is found buried in a shallow grave below a tree.”
If any of you guys happened to have missed that particular repeat episode of 48 Hours when it originally aired, you might still want to hit up CBS tonight to check it out. If you did catch that repeat episode during it’s original airing and you have absolutely no desire to see it again, you will certainly want to skip CBS tonight during that time and makes some alternate plans.
Again CBS’ press release confirmed that 48 Hours will be a repeat episode again tonight, July 29, 2023, and it’s schedule to show up on your TV sets, starting at approximately 9 pm central standard time.
