New 20/20 September 8, 2023 Episode Preview Revealed
Hey, “20/20” fans. We’re back in your faces to let you know that ABC will finally serve up a brand new episode of 20/20 tonight, September 8, 2023. That’s right, guys. Tonight’s episode will not be a repeat episode for a change. It will be the 36th episode of 20/20’s current season 45, and we’ve got some new preview information for it.
ABC served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new, September 8, 2023 episode 36. So, we will certainly reference it for this preview session. Let’s get to it.
For starters, there is an official title for tonight’s new, September 8, 2023 episode of 20/20. It’s called, “Long Island Serial killer.”
In tonight’s new, September 8, 2023 episode, The 20/20 team will take a deep look at a story about a 23 year old woman named Shannan Gilbert. She disappeared back in May of 2010. The detectives that worked this case found human remains on Gilgo Beach, Long Island. However, the remains did not belong to Shannan Gilbert. They belonged to four other missing women who had been working as escorts.
Eventually, another 6 bodies were discovered along Ocean Parkway. American journalist Deborah Roberts handled the reporting duties for this case and episode. She will report on all the twists and turns this investigation has taken over the past decade along with the latest DNA technology that has led to the arrest of an architect and Long Island resident named Rex Heuermann. He has been charged with the deaths of three of the women, and he has pleaded not guilty to all of them this year.
This episode will also feature interviews with: Alex Diaz, Gilbert’s boyfriend, who sheds light on the aftermath of her disappearance; Sara Karnes, one of the last people to see victim Brainard-Barnes alive and who received a taunting phone call after her disappearance; and former Suffolk County law enforcement officers Stuart Cameron, Timothy Sini and Geraldine Hart, who provide critical insight into the investigation and how they found the suspect.
The episode also includes additional interviews with family members of the victims; key players in the case such as Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney and Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison; the Gilbert family attorney and more.
ABC’s official description for tonight’s new, September 8, 2023 episode of 20/20 reads like this, “‘20/20’ INVESTIGATES THE DECADELONG SEARCH FOR THE LONG ISLAND SERIAL KILLER. All-New Two-Hour Program Features Exclusive Interviews With Boyfriend of Missing Woman, Close Friend of Victim, and Investigators Who Identified Rex Heuermann as the Lead Suspect in Three Cases.”
An alternate description tells us, “The investigation of the Gilgo Beach murders, featuring interviews with family members of the victims and key players in the case – including Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison and Suffolk County Defense Attorney Ray Tierney.”
Again, ABC’s press release confirmed that 20/20 will be brand new tonight, September 8, 2023, and it’s scheduled to hit your TV screens, starting at approximately 8 pm central standard time.
