We are back in action on this beautiful Saturday to let you guys know that you can indeed look forward to seeing another new episode of 48 Hours hit your TV sets tonight, October 28, 2023. That’s right, guys. CBS is going to air the next, new episode 7 of 48 Hours’ current season 37 tonight, and we’ve got some new preview information for it.
CBS served up a new, official press release for tonight’s new, October 28, 2023 episode 7. So, we’re going to certainly see what it has to say for this preview session. Let’s get to it.
To start, we’ve got an official title for tonight’s new, October 28, 2023 episode 7 of 48 hours season 37. It’s called,”Murder By Clown.”
In tonight’s new,October 28, 2023 episode 7, the 48 Hours team will take a deep look at a story about a Florida woman named Marlene Warren. Way, way back on May 26, 1990, she answered her door, and a clown holding balloons and flowers shot her dead while her 21-year old son Joe Aherns watched! In this episode, Joe is going to talk with 48 Hours correspondent Peter Van Sant about that terrible day he saw his mother get shot to death.
The investigators who worked this case immediately started checking alibis for Marlene’s husband Michael and his coworker Sheila Keen because they were believed to be having an affair. Michael’s alibi checked out. So, the investigators started checking local costume shops to see if anyone had recently rented a clown costume. Eventually, they thought they found a suspect. However, this case would linger on for decades before an arrest was made.
During the interview, Joe Aherns told 48 Hours, “That was the worst day of my life. We were eating breakfast. We saw the colors of the reflections through the glass. It looked like a clown costume. My mother opened the door and I heard ‘How, how pretty,’ and heard a bang, and I saw her fall.” The clown then calmly walked back to their car and drove away.
Palm Beach County assistant state attorney Aleathea McRoberts told 48 hours,”It appeared like the perfect crime. Anybody passing by would probably say, oh, isn’t that nice. Somebody’s getting flowers.”
CBS’ official description for tonight’s new, October 28, 2023 episode 7 of 48 Hours season 37 reads like this, “Marlene Warren answered the door of her Florida home on May 26, 1990, to find a clown handing her balloons and flowers. In an instant, she was shot dead while her 21-year-old son looked on. Warren’s son, Joe Aherns, opens up to 48 HOURS correspondent Peter Van Sant about the horrific day in “Murder by Clown.”
An alternate description tells us, “A MURDERER DISGUISED AS A CLOWN KILLED A BELOVED FLORIDA MOTHER AND ALMOST GOT AWAY WITH IT. Peter Van Sant Reports in “48 Hours: Murder by Clown.”
CBS’ press release confirmed that the next, new episode 7 of 48 Hours’ current season 37 is indeed scheduled to hit the air tonight, October 28, 2023, starting at approximately 9 pm central standard time. Tonight’s new episode will be a 1-hour event. So, expect it to wrap up at 10 pm central standard time. It will also be available for streaming on Paramount+.
