Big Brother Host Julie Chen Revealed Some Very Bad News Today
Hey, fellow Big Brother fans. We’re back at you with another brand new report. This time, it’s in reference to longtime Big Brother host Julie Chen. We waited to get official details on this issue before we reported on anything. It turns out that the unfortunate issues concerning Julie Chen’s husband Les Moonves has indeed affected Julie’s employment status at CBS.
As of yesterday September 17, 2018, it was officially revealed that Julie has decided to quit “The Talk” morning show for CBS. It’s not currently clear if she will end up quitting Big Brother as well. We do think she will finish out this current season 20 as she was spotted on the Big Brother set this morning.
The speculation is that Big Brother doesn’t require Julie Chen to talk about serious news topics like “The Talk” does. The thinking is that “The Talk” would require Julie to possibly discuss very sensitive topics in regards to her husband. That, of course, would make things too uncomfortable for her. With that in mind, it could be quite possible that Julie may elect to keep hosting Big Brother. Again though, we’re not sure. Julie has not made any official announcements in regards to her future with Big Brother.
She did make the official announcement for “The Talk” earlier today, September 18, 2018. The current hosts of the talk played a tape Julie made which showed her making her official announcement that she was exiting “The Talk” morning show.
Julie’s official exit statement reads like this, “I have been at “The Talk” since the day it started nine years ago, and the cast, crew and staff have become family to me over the years. But, right now, I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son. So, I’ve decided to leave The Talk. I want to thank everyone at the show for the wonderful years together. I will always cherish the memories we shared. Most important, I want to thank you the viewers for allowing me into your home everyday. It was a privilege that I will be forever grateful for.
To everyone behind the scenes, I send you my love. I will miss you all very, very much. To Eve, you’re the newest member of the table, but I feel like I’ve known you forever. You are even more beautiful inside than you are on the outside if that’s even possible because you know I think you are flawless.
Cheryl, thank you for being the perfect go-to partner for the last seven years. I open. You close, and you always bring down the house. We call ourselves the bookends, remember? And we always laughed when we said it to each other. Your wit and timing and humor and compassion and intelligence is simply unparalleled. You are incredible.
Carrie Ann, I don’t know. But in my opinion, you look awfully good sitting in that chair my Asian sister. I’m just saying. And finally, to Sarah and Sharon. We’ve been together since day one at “The Talk.” I’ve spent everyday with you both. I will always treasure our friendship with great parenting advice from both of you and the memories and laughs. And all the private jokes that the three of us have shared.
We are the original Three Musketeers. I love you all, and I know this show and the sisterhood it stands for will live on for many, many more years to come. You ladies got this, and I could not be more proud to call you my friends. I love you.” Julie posted a copy of this video message on her official Twitter account. Julie Chen’s husband Les Moonves is the former network CEO of CBS after he essentially got fired back on September 9, 2018. Apparently, there is an ongoing investigation on him that involves allegations of sexual misconduct. He was also in a corporate battle with majority shareholder Shari Redstone.
According to a CNN report ,a total of six women have come forward with sexual harassment claims against Les Moonves. They include multiple allegations of either physically forced or coerced oral sex. One of them includes a case that resulted in a criminal investigation.
So, this is some pretty serious stuff. Again, Julie Chen is expected to host the current season 20 of Big Brother all the way through its finale date which is set for Wednesday night, September 26, 2018.
After that, we’ll just have to wait and see. CBS has currently not renewed Big Brother for a 21st season. However, we totally expect them to. Big Brother has been a summer ratings hit for the network. In fact, it’s been one of very few summer shows that’s been able to prosper over the years. CBS has had to cancel most of their other shows they’ve tried to introduce during the summer.
We feel like the worst case scenario is that if CBS were to go crazy and cancel Big Brother, one of the other big networks like ABC, FOX or NBC would likely pick it up. We definitely don’t think Big Brother will ever die. It’s too much of a summer ratings monster right now with a dedicated fan base like no other.
Alright guys. That wraps it up for this sad Julie Chen report. How do you guys feel about Julie exiting “The Talk” and possibly leaving Big Brother after season 20? Are you happy about it?
