MasterChef August 15, 2019 Eliminated Jamie Hough (Recap)
Hey, “MasterChef” fans. Tonight, August 15, 2019, another elimination episode did indeed air with judges: Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sanchez, and Joe Bastianich. Tonight’s episode kicked off by revealing that Nick DiGiovanni was safe from elimination after winning last night’s immunity challenge.
After that, they brought on a special guest pig named Marley. This was to reveal that the contestants would have to whip up a tasty sausage meal for this elimination challenge.
Everyone but Micah said they never made sausages before. Aaron demonstrated how to make them correctly. After that,Aaron told them they had 60 minutes to whip up their sausage dish.
Early on, Jamie already started having problems. Sarah told Aaron and Joe she was making a sausage dish that included cabbage and a lot of other things. Joe said, “It sounds authentic and good if you can execute it.”
Jamie told Gordon he was making a cajun green onion sausage with rice, red beans and other things. Joe said Subha looks really behind at around 39 minutes left to go.
Noah told Joe and Aaron he was making lamb and pork sausage with corn, carrots, onions and other things. Noah was really confident and said, “I have zero chance of going home tonight.”
Shari told Gordon she was making black beans and apple salsa to go with her sausage. At around 30 minutes to go, the judges still worried about Subha. Gordon told him to hurry up.
Bri told Gordon she was making handmade pasta with garlic flavored sausage. Gordon told her, “I want rich flavors from your sausage.”
Subha told Aaron and Joe what he was making, and they gave him some advice. At this point, Jamie told Joe and Aaron that he felt good about his sausages. However, they expressed that they were worried for him. So, he was clearly on a much different page.
Micah told Gordon he was making smoked wild boar and elk sausage. Gordon said,”Get yourself in the top 8.”
Dorian told Joe and Aaron she was making beans, tomatoes and okra, and that she was putting cayenne and garlic in her sausage.
Subha’s sausages were starting to explode at around 5 minutes to go, but he didn’t seemed to worried about it. Joe and Aaron definitely ran over to say something about it though. They were quite concerned. Subha seemed very confident when the time ran out. He said, “I’m gonna be in the top 8.”
At this point, it was time for the contestants to present their dishes. Sarah was up first. She presented a wild boar mustard, green apple and goat cheese sausage with braised red cabbage, butternut squash, and apple puree.
Gordon said, “It was a really good effort. Well done.” Joe said, “The sausage had the right consistency. It’s a good dish.” Aaron said it was good.
Next, Subha presented a Lamb and pork sausage with korma and basmati coconut rice. Aaron said, “The sausage was off putting to look at, but it’s tasty and well seasoned.” Joe said, “The rice is overcooked. The sausage is ok. It has good flavors.” Gordon said,”It’s delicious, but it’s an ugly dish to look at.” So, once again, Subha had trouble with his presentation.
Bri was up next. She presented a pork and garlic sausage with tagliatelle pasta and beurre monte sauce. Gordon said, “It’s too light. There’s more pasta than sausage, and the sausage is bland.” Aaron said, “Everything is executed properly, but it’s boring. The sausage is not interesting.”
Joe said, “The sausage and pasta are too safe.” They really criticized Bri about not making enough sausage just like last week when she didn’t add enough truffle when truffle was supposed to be one of the main parts of the dish. Bri was even trying to talk back to them a little bit. She needs to get her act together and listen.
Next, Dorian presented wild boar, fennel and apple sausage with cannellini beans. Gordon said, “It looks hearty, and it taste delicious.” Aaron said, “It was done in a refined manner.” Joe said, “The toast cheapens the dish. It tastes good. The sausage has wonderful texture. It’s a complete dish.”
Micah presented his dish next. It was a elk and wild boar sausage with carrot, celery root puree, roasted mushrooms and carrots dish.
Joe said, “I’m not a fan of the plating used. The meat is very gamey and has a nice balance.” Aaron said, “I love the decision of the pork. It works.” Gordon said, “It’s the best I’ve ever tasted. You’re incredible at just 19 years of age. Good job.”
Next,Shari presented wild boar sausage with black beans, apple salsa, and chili lime crema. Aaron said, “It’s a little tough to look at. It taste good. I don’t like how it was composed.” Gordon said, “The contrast was right. It’s delicious and done with flare.” Joe said, “It’s very interesting. I like it.”
Jamie presented a cajun sausage with fried okra, red beans and rice dish. Gordon immediately said, “It looks a mess. Everything is dry. I’m searching for texture and moisture.” Aaron said, “It looks a mess. This is not it.” Joe said, “The sausage is dry, terrible and unbalanced. It’s far off the mark.” Ouch!
Lastly, a very confident Noah presented his dish. It was a lamb and pork sausage with carrot succotash, mashed potatoes, and Guinness brown gravy dish. Gordon said, “It’s delicious. It’s hearty and earthy.” Aaron said, “It’s really amazing.” Joe said, “I love it. It’s got sophisticated flavors. It’s spot on.”
After that, the judges just immediately told Jamie he was eliminated tonight, and he pretty much knew it anyways.
Bri got real lucky that Jamie totally screwed up. So, she escaped elimination again. She really needs to get her stuff together, or she’ll be gone soon.

I think subra should be gone. Jaime was stand up but and good cook!
Bri makes a mess and doesn’t follow the rules but she cries and gets to stay on. Is it just because she is eye candy and that is what the judges are looking at and not her ability to cook. Bri messes up every week, like the dry onion soup in a bread bowl, had Jamie messed up as many weeks.
Why was Jamie eliminated and not Bri. Each week she is safe. Each week she makes a mess and does not follow directions. Are the Judges really being taken in with the tears and blond hair. In comparison how many times had Jamie mess up and how many times had Bri. Will never forget the dry onion soup bread bowl but she is still there.
I think this is a great group of chefs but Subha should have been kicked off a long time ago!
I really think Bri should be gone she is nothing but a whiny cry baby and has messed up more than anyone!! Why is she still there! She should have definitely went home weeks ago!! Tired of her crying and also being safe!! ??
I think it is really nice this year because they all seem to get along and it is not all the arguing and name calling. They all encourage each other which is awesome!!
My money is on Micah to take it all. I think it will between Dorian and Micah. BUT.. I agree with the Bri comments.
