New Superman,Man Of Steel Movie Delivered Great Action,Special Effects & More
New Superman,Man Of Steel movie delivered great action, special effects & more. Warner Bros. Pictures released their new super hero/action flick “Superman: Man Of Steel” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out,and thought it was pretty damn good, serving up a ton of action, crazy special effects, and more. It stars: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe.
In the new flick, Krypton is on the brink of destruction due to the core becoming unstable. Jor-El is looking to send his newborn baby, Kal-El aka Superman off to Earth to give him a chance to live. However, that goal is met with a great obstacle as the crazy General Zod is in the midst of waging war against the ruling council of Krypton for being responsible for the impending destruction of Krypton. Eventually, Jor-El is able to dodge Zod’s madness long enough to send Kal-El to Earth, but not without getting murdered by Zod.
As a punishment for Zod’s crimes, he and his lackeys are sent to the Phantom Zone, but later, set free when Krypton explodes. Then we skip forward to a grown up Clark that works various different jobs as he tries to discover who he really is,and what he should do with his life. They made use of flashbacks to explain certain events from his childhood.
At one point, Lois Lane, discovers who Clark really is by following him into his fortress. After that, their bond is eventually formed when she hunts him down, using her reporting skills and contacts. Meanwhile, General Zod and his peeps, tracked Clark/Kal-El’s location on Earth after he accidentally sent out a beacon when controlling his spaceship/fortress. Yeah, the fortress turned out to be a huge spaceship in this version.
Zod and his crew arrive on Earth and eventually threaten to destroy it if Superman doesn’t turn himself in. After Superman agrees to Zod’s demands, Zod informs him of his plans to try and turn Earth into Krypton ,and destroying the humans in the process. Needless to say, Superman doesn’t agree with Zod’s crazy plan.
And this major disagreement leads to a huge conclusion that puts millions of lives in danger as Zod and his crew go on the extreme attack, especially when they start up the conversion of Earth to Krypton process. It all culminated in an epic battle between Zod and Superman, which turned out to just be majorly insane.
Again, I enjoyed watching the film. It delivered a lot of action and moved along at a very quick pace. Almost too quick. The only objection I had, is that at times, it felt like the movie skipped over a lot of stuff ,plotwise,or that they rushed things along. I also would’ve preferred the plotline to play out chronologically instead of doing the whole flashback thing, but that could just be personal preference. Overall, I gave the movie a solid B- grade.
