‘Alvin And The Chipmunks’ 2 movie brought laughs & entertainment. 20th Century Fox’s new “Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakuel” movie hit theaters this weekend. I just got through checking it out. Contrary to other reviews I read,it was quite entertaining and brought plenty of laughs and entertainment. It stars: Jason Lee, Justin Long, David Cross, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jesse McCartney, Anna Faris, Christina Applegate, Amy Poehler, and Zachary Levi.
In “Alvin and The Chipmunks: The squeakuel,” the chipmunks are now being taken care of by Toby (Zachary Levi) because Dave is in the hospital. They now have to go to school,which seemed a bit too unrealistic,even for this type of movie,but oh well.

‘Up In The Air’ movie gets excellent reviews from top movie critics. Paramount’s Picture’s new drama movie, “Up In The Air” got released nationwide two days ago,after being released in limited areas of the country during the first week of December. The top movie critics really seem to love this film as it got mostly As and a few Bs. It stars: George Clooney, Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick, Jason Bateman, Tamala Jones,and Chris Lowell.
Wesley Morris from the Boston Globe gave it a B. He said, it was “warm, smoothly made.” Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave it an A. He stated, “(Vera) Farmiga is one of the warmest and most attractive women in the movies, or at least she plays one.”
Michael Phillips over at the Chicago Tribune gate it a B rating. He said, “It is actively impossible to dislike, even when its protagonist is doing nominally dislikable things.” Read more »
‘It’s Complicated’ movie got pretty good reviews from top movie critics. Universal Picture’s new romantic comedy, “It’s Complicated” hit theaters today,and the reviews are in. They look pretty good. It got all Bs,and just one C. It stars: Meryl Streep, Steve Martin, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, Lake Bell, Zoe Kazan, Mary Kay Place, Nora Dunn, Bruce Altman, and Rita Wilson.
Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a B-. He said, “It’s Complicated is perfectly plausible if you are only willing to believe that Meryl Streep sells a whole lot of muffins.”
Lisa Schwarzbaum over at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B rating. He said, ” It’s Complicated is middle-aged porn, the specialty of Meyers, who also set ladies and interior decorators drooling over homes and gardens in 2006’s The Holiday. Read more »

The Weinstein Company’s new feature film entitled, “Nine” hit theaters today,and it garnered “just ok” reviews from top movie critics,mostly getting Cs,two Bs,and two Ds. It stars : Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Stacy Ferguson, and Sophia Loren
Owen Gleiberman from Entertainment Weekly gave it a C. He said, “If there’s a lesson to be learned from Nine, it’s that writer’s block is not a great subject for a musical.”
Chris Barsanti over at Filmcritic.com gave it a C. He stated, he was “wandering, sporadically entertaining.” Kirk Honeycutt gave it a C. He said, ” The disappointments here are many, from a starry cast the film ill-uses to flat musical numbers that never fully integrate into the dramatic story.” Read more »

Pictures new “Sherlock Holmes” movie starring Robert Downey Jr. hit theaters today,and the top movie critics appear to be pretty happy with it,giving it great reviews. It got mostly Bs and only two Cs. It stars: Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams, Mark Strong, Eddie Marsan, and Kelly Reilly.
Roger Ebert from the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a B. He said, “Guy Ritchie’s film is filled with sensational sights, over-the-top characters and a desperate struggle atop Tower Bridge.”
Owen Gleiberman of Entertainment Weekly gave it a B- rating . He stated, “A top-heavy light entertainment.” James Berardinelli over at Reelviews gave it another B-,stating, “Guy Ritchie’s ‘re-interpretation’ of Holmes feels more spastic than kinetic.” Read more »
Critics give ‘Alvin And The Chipmunks’ Squeakuel mediocre reviews. 20th Century Fox’s new family comedy movie, “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel” hit theaters two days ago. The top movie critics thought this installment was less-than-stellar,giving it some pretty mediocre reviews. However,it did get one B,but mostly Cs and one D was what this movie scored.
Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a C-. He said, it was a “A slapstick pacifier.” Betsy Sharkey from the Los Angeles Times gave it a B . She stated, ” The fun follow-up to the 2007 blockbuster is filled with teen chipmunk drama.”
Neil Genzlinger over at the New York Times gave it a C- rating. He said, “The earlier Alvin movie made more than $217 million just in the United States. It’s hard to imagine this somewhat confused sequel doing as well.” Read more »
Tennis Star, Serena Williams revealed a major nip slip in Barbados. Tennis Star Serena Williams was apparently in Barbados at the beginning of this month,and her swimsuit top slipped off,which revealed a major slippage of the nippage if you know what I’m sayin.

Sportscaster, George Michael dies at age 70 due to cancer. According to the Los Angeles Times, longtime sportscaster, George Michael died early this morning after a long two-year battle with cancer. He was 70 years old,and was most noted for his nationally syndicated TV program entitled, ” The George Michael Sports Machine.” It was a syndicated TV show that ran nationwide for 27 years. He was on TV for more than 25 years in Washington,and he was a sports anchor on NBC’s channel 4.
His producer, Matt Glassman said he was a pioneer. He stated, “George was a pioneer in sports broadcasting.He was a gifted interviewer, a master storyteller, and one of the hardest working journalists out there.” Read more »
Natalie White convincingly wins “Survivor: Samoa” season 19. Tonight’s 3 hour finale show started off with a brief recap of the entire season. They showed two regular shows. Then, they aired the live reunion show where the winner was announced.
In the first regular show, Russell was still wanting to get Brett out. In fact, everyone wanted Brett out. They immediately headed over to their next immunity challenge,which involved putting a puzzle together. Brett won it again to take immunity for a 3rd consecutive time. Russell decided he wanted to keep Natalie and get rid of Jaison,so he pitched the idea to Mick.

Movie Star, Brittany Murphy surprisingly died abruptly today. TMZ is sadly reporting that famous movie star, Brittany Murphy died earlier this morning after going into full cardiac arrest,and could not be revived. She was 32 years old.
They say a 911 call was made by her mother at 8am this morning. Her mother called them from Brittany’s husband’s home in Los Angeles, California. Brittany was later taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center,and they said she was dead on arrival. Brittany Murphy played in movies like: “Clueless,” “8 mile,” and “Don’t Say a Word.” I particularly remember her from “8 mile” with rapper, Eminem. Read more »
