“The Book of Eli” movie revolves around the character, Eli (Denzel Washington) who has been walking the Earth for the past 30 years after it had been burned out. He discovers that the new generation of people can’t read,think for themselves,and held captive by some of the evil, older people who can. His whole mission is to deliver a mysterious book out west. Top critics gave Jackie Chan’s ‘Spy Next Door’ movie pretty bad reviews. Lionsgate pictures unleashed it’s new Jackie Chan comedy/action flick, “The Spy Next Door” in theaters today. It also stars: Madeline Carroll, Alina Foley, George Lopez, Billy Ray Cyrus, Amber Valletta, and Katherine Boecher. The movie critics sure didn’t like this one. They mostly gave it Cs and one D,stating their dislike of the film.
Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it a C-. He said, “Burnt toast, clogged toilets, and life lessons ensue.” Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a C-. He stated, “Jackie Chan is 55. Just sayin’.”

‘The Lovely Bones’ movie gets mediocre reviews from top critics. Dreamworks Pictures released it’s new,interesting drama, “The Lovely Bones” in wide release today after a limited release back in early December. It stars: Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli,and Saoirse Ronan Most of the top movie critics seemed to think that it was missing a certain element,giving it pretty mediocre reviews.
Peter Travers at Rolling Stone gave it 4 stars. He said, “All this is conveyed in the remarkable performance of Ronan, an Oscar nominee for Atonement. She and Tucci — magnificent as a man of uncontrollable impulses — help Jackson cut a path to a humanity that supersedes life and death.”
A.O. Scott from The New York Times gave it 3 stars. He stated, “The filmmakers’ evident affection for the book expresses itself as a desperate scramble to include as much of it as possible, which leaves the movie feeling both overcrowded and thin.” Read more »

Singer,Teddy Pendergrass sadly died yesterday in Philadelphia. According to ABC news, R&B singer, Teddy Pendergrass died yesterday in suburban Philadelphia. He had apparently been hospitalized for months. His son said he had underwent colon cancer surgery eight months ago,and had a difficult time recovering from it. He was 59 years old.
Before being in a car crash 28 years ago,which left him paralyzed from the waist down, he had tons of R&B hits that included, “Close the Door,” “It Don’t Hurt Now,” and “Love T.K.O.” A lot of his hits became classics. He was able to get about 10 platinum albums in a row,and was a very successful recording artist until the car crash halted his career. Read more »

‘Youth In Revolt’ movie gets great reviews from top critics. Top movie critics apparently loved Dimension Film’s new comedy flick, “Youth in Revolt” just as much as I did. They gave it mostly Bs and only one C. It stars: Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday, Steve Buscemi, Ray Liotta, Justin Long, Jean Smart, Ari Graynor, Fred Willard, Zach Galifianakis, Mary Kay Place, and Rooney Mara.

‘Youth In Revolt’ movie brought hysterical comedy to the big screen. “Youth In Revolt,” which is Dimension Films new comedy flick, came out this weekend and it was a whole lot better than I thought it would be. The movie trailers really don’t do it justice. It was filled with hysterically funny scenes,and almost kind of reminded me of “Superbad,” in the fact that they just kept the laughs coming. It never let up,not for one second. Michael Cera has a unique personality that just really cracks me up. ‘Daybreakers’ movie delivered an interesting,action filled vampire story. Lionsgate released their new vampire horror flick this weekend entitled, “Daybreakers.” I just got done watching it,and was pleasantly surprised at how interesting the story was,and all the intense action scenes the movie delivered. It was definitely way better than I thought it would be. It stars: Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Claudia Karvan, Michael Dorman, Vince Colosimo, Isabel Lucas,and Sam Neill.
“Daybreakers” revolved around good vampire, Edward Dalton who was turned by his brother,but not by his own free will. The setting of the movie, was that the population had been taken over by vampires and they were running out of human blood. Edward’s was one of the main doctors trying to create a blood replacement,but through unforeseen circumstances, he eventually teams up with a couple of the only few humans left,and they lead him to finding a cure.
