‘Shutter Island’ movie delivered an interesting story with a great twist. Paramount Pictures released it’s brand, new, psychological thriller this weekend entitled, “Shutter Island.” I just saw it,and thought that it was a very interesting movie, and it also had a really good twist. It did not disappoint at all. The movie stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Patricia Clarkson, and Max von Sydow.

“Shutter Island” revolved around two U.S. appointed marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo). They go to “Shutter Island” to investigate, and try to find a missing mental patient who has escaped the facility. However, Teddy starts to progressively get more pissed off with Dr. Cawley and the staff who work there because he doesn’t think he’s getting a truthful answer from any of them.

Teddy also seems to a have another secret mission for going to the island. He eventually starts having headaches, delusions, and he finds a supposed refugee doctor/patient who tells him that he’ll never get off the island. The whole time, it appears that Teddy is trying to unravel a mystery that something else might be going on at the facility that just isn’t right. In a final, dramatic conclusion, he runs into a big twist that leaves his tough exterior drowning in tears over something he just can’t get over. This movie sends the mind on a whirlwind.

Overall, I thought “Shutter Island” was very intriguing. I was trying to figure out just what the hell was going on the entire time. I’m still trying to figure it out. I think I know, but I’m still not quite sure…. It was that good. It contained a lot of intense drama, and just left me wanting to know more.

Grade A
