‘Repo Men” movie got mediocre reviews from top movie critics. Universal Pictures released its new action/thriller movie, “Repo Men” in theaters today, and the top movie critics in the business, pretty much thought it was just mediocre, stating it had a moment or two. The movie stars: Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schreiber, RZA, Alice Braga, and Carice van Houten
Wesley Morris at the Boston Globe gave it a C. He said, “it has a moment or two.” Roger Ebert over at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a C. He stated, “What are people supposed to think? Is this an action scene, or satire? Does it make any difference? I dunno.”
Robert Abele at the Chicago Tribune gave it a C-. He said, “there’s a key organ missing from the movie itself: a brain.” Owen Gleiberman from “Entertainment Weekly” gave it a C-. He stated, that it “turns into a grisly one-note chase thriller.”
Bill Gibron from Filmcritic.com gave it a B rating. He said, that it “triumphs in the end. Repo Men starts out sensational, dealing with its potentially silly material with slickness and seriousness. Storyboard artist turned director Miguel Sapochnik does a decent job of keeping things believable, without going overboard on the techno-dork dynamic.”
Michael Rechtshaffen at the “Hollywood Reporter” gave it a very weak D-. He said, “Let the 2010 Razzies race begin! Comprising reclaimed bits from “Blade Runner,” “A Clockwork Orange” and “Children of Men” and glibly served up with hyper Guy Ritchie attitude by first-time feature director Miguel Sapochnik, the resulting in-your-face mess never knows what it wants to be when it grows up.” “Repo Men” movie is in theaters now.
