New RoboCop 2014 movie delivered great hardcore action, drama & more. Columbia Pictures (Sony) released their new action/sci-fi/remake flick, “RoboCop,” into theaters this weekend. I just checked it out, and thought it was pretty entertaining, serving up lots of action, coupled with intense drama, and more. The movie stars: Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste.

In the new flick, the year is set in 2028, and revolves around good cop, Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) and this OmniCorp company that’s desperately trying to get approval for their army of robot protectors be put on American soil so they can maximize their revenue and profits. However, they keep getting turned down, because the American public doesn’t feel good about an emotionless robot trying to protect them.

In response to this, OmniCorp CEO ,Raymond Sellars (Michael Keaton), comes up with the idea of putting a human man inside a machine. They look over possible accident victims to use as subjects, but come up short until Alex gets blown to bits from a car bomb that was planted by a major criminal he was trying to take down.

After Alex’s wife consents to the RoboCop project, we see what’s left of Alex’s body be put into a huge RoboCop machine. Alex is traumatized at first, but eventually accepts his role as the ultimate protector. Unfortunately, the shady Raymond Sellars wants to kill Alex when things don’t go his way. It turns out that Alex overrides their programming to do things his way,and to take out criminals he wants to take out.

This lead to a very high action conclusion that involves Alex aka RoboCop totally trying to destroy Raymond and all of his OmniCorp robot work, and more. They also left it slightly open for a sequel possibility. Again, I thought the movie pretty entertaining. The plot was solid enough to keep me interested. I’m just not a big fan of the whole RoboCop character in general, but I went ahead and gave it a solid B- grade. Stay tuned. Also, get your favorite Movie stuff, and more by Clicking Here.
