Top critics gave Tyler Perry’s ‘Why Did I Get Married Too’ poor reviews. Lionsgate released their new Tyler Perry Flick “Why Did I Get Married Too” in theaters today,and it got some pretty poor reviews from top movie critics. Most of the movie critics were shut out from reviewing this movie. However, a couple of them submitted their reviews to Rotten Tomatoes,and they didn’t sound too pleased with it. The movie stars: Tyler Perry, Sharon Leal, Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott, Lamman Rucker, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, Michael J. White, Cicely Tyson, and Louis Gossett Jr.
Rob Humanick at Slant Magazine said, “For the prolific Tyler Perry, Why Did I Get Married Too? is nothing if not more of the same.” Wilson Morales at Blackfilm.com stated, ‘Married Too?’ isn’t the perfect film about the challenges of being married, but Perry brings enough issues to the table to enlighten and entertain the audience.”
Brian Orndorf at BrianOrndorf.com said, “Perry’s most obscenely obnoxious, morally bankrupt, and professionally ramshackle film to date. It’s appalling in every way, showing a disregard for humankind in a manner that should keep Perry on a therapist’s couch, not on a film set.”
Armond White from the New York Press said, “Since Married Too? is not Perry’s first attempt at filmmaking, his reliance on formula becomes disconcerting. I enjoyed this movie much more than i did the first one. I laughed, I cried, so much that the time alloted passed very quickly. Tyler Perry is able to show the underlying problems that exist in every relationship even though we try to cover them up. Some scenes were a little unexpected and over top but thats a part of what makes great movies. All you haters with your bad reviews, save your negative comments because us Tyler Perry fans don’t listen to or agree with your criticism. Tyler Perry is the man right now when it comes to movie entertainment. Why Did I Get Married Too was well worth the wait and the price of a ticket.
