Top critics gave new ‘Last Airbender’ movie pretty negative reviews. Paramount Pictures released their new action/adventure flick “The Last Airbender” into theaters yesterday, and most of the top movie critics weren’t impressed with it at all. They mostly gave it Ds,and one of them even gave it an F rating. However, there was one who thought it was pretty good with a B-. It stars: Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, Jessica Jade Andres, Aasif Mandvi, Shaun Toub, Cliff Curtis, and Keong Sim.

Ty Burr from the Boston Globe gave it a bad D rating. He said, it was “dreadful.” Roger Ebert over at the Chicago Sun-Times gave it a D-. He said, it was “an agonizing experience in every category I can think of and others still waiting to be invented.”

Michael Phillips at the Chicago Tribune gave it a D+. He stated, “the latest 3-D offering in theaters, yet barely functional in 2 or even 1.” Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a C. He said, “As for the 3-D, I’m tempted to leave responsible critical language behind and say quite simply that it sucks, except that the 3-D visuals in this movie would have to exist before they could be called terrible.”

Sean O’Connell at Filmcritic.com gave it a D+. He said, “the Signs and Sixth Sense director turns Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series into The Last Snore-bender.” Kirk Honeycutt at the Hollywood Reporter gave it a C-. He stated, “Even during the climax, the film still is struggling to introduce the world of the film and its strange rules.”

Kenneth Turan from the Los Angeles Times gave it a C rating. He said, “By specifically critical and broadly adult standards, this film is undoubtedly a disappointment, but it is disappointing in a way that its intended audience may not notice.”

A.O. Scott from the New York Times gave it a real bad F rating. He said, it “can serve as a reminder of how difficult it can be to inaugurate a fantasy-action franchise.” James Berardinelli at Reelviews gave it a D. He said, “This is bad filmmaking and bad storytelling. It also sounds what should be the death knell to M. Night Shyamalan’s career.”

Scott Bowles over at USA Today gave it a pretty good B- rating. He said, “for a kids’ movie, Airbender delivers on multiple levels.” “The Last Airbender” movie is in theaters now. Get your “Last Airbender” movie tickets at Fandango by Clicking Here.

This depresses me. I loved the show (I’m in my 40’s) and was really looking forward to a big screen adaptation to bring it a wider audience. It’s unforgivable Shyamalan could take a fantasy world on an imaginative par with Harry Potter or Narnia or even Lord of the Rings and muck it up like this.

FANS OF THE TV SHOW… Band together and show your support for the original version: the Peabody award-winning Nickelodeon cartoon created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. Talk it up, post in on comment boards, anything to remind the public of the excellent source material and forget the Shyamalan hack-job.

Don’t let this lousy movie condemn the original “Avatar: The Last Airbender” to the dustbin of pop culture history. It deserves much better.

His best was unbreakable. He is downhill from ever since. How in the world he keep getting offers to direct is beyond belief. He has to be worst director of all time and even in universe.

I am indian , i hate this moron shymalan. Either he has low IQ or something. He does not understand what people want. Main reason for his failures is dialogues. It is almost like “Get me out of this hell hole” when i watch his films.

He got lucky with 6th sense and he is milking to eternity.
