Top Critics Gave The Last Exorcism Movie Mixed Reviews

Top Critics gave The Last Exorcism movie pretty positive reviews. Lionsgate released their new horror flick “The Last Exorcism” into theaters today,and the top movie critics seem to be pretty mixed on it,giving it mostly Bs and Cs. One of them really didn’t like it,giving it a nasty D rating. The movie stars: Patrick Fabian and Ashley Bell.

Jesse Singal at the Boston Globe gave it a C. He said, “There may once have been a good and a bad film fighting for the soul of The Last Exorcism, but in its final moments, cinema’s dark forces triumph emphatically.”

Owen Gleiberman at Entertainment Weekly gave it a B rating. He stated, “It’s nothing if not clever about toying with your expectations.” Bill Gibron at Filmcritic.com gave it a nasty D rating. He said, “It’s easy to sum up what’s wrong with The Last Exorcism. Nothing happens.”

Michael Rechtshaffen at Hollywood Reporter gave it a B-. He said, “Self-possessed performances elevate this creepy but half-cocked faux-doc.” Robert Abele at Los Angeles Times gave it a B. He stated, “it stands up nicely to DIY-tinged shiver stalwarts The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity.”

James Berardinelli over at Reelviews gave it a B-. He stated, “one of those rare films where the marketing campaign is more interesting than the film it publicizes.” Peter Travers at Rolling Stone gave it another B rating. He said, “delivers the heebie-jeebie goods.”
