A ‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Main Actor Has Quit The Show, New Details
According to a recent report from soapcentral, Rome Flynn (above) who plays character Zende Forrester on CBS’ hit soap opera “The Bold And The Beautiful” has decided to not renew his contract which means he’s quitting the show! They say he made his very serious announcement during a live Instagram video.
They also pointed out that a spokesperson for the show confirmed the news by saying, “Rome Flynn has decided not to renew his contract. He has been a valued member of the B&B family, and we wish him much success in all of his future endeavors.”
Flynn has apparently decided to quit due to obligations on another soap opera he joined that’s airing on the Oprah Winfrey Network. It’s called, “The Haves and the Have Nots.” It’s produced by Tyler Perry. Flynn released a statement about it. However, at the time, he said it would not cause him to quit his “Bold And The Beautiful” role.
He said, “Looking forward to joining this amazing cast. Thank you to everyone that has been rocking with me since day 1! New Chapter, New blessing. (P.S B&B fans don’t worry, zendaddy ain’t going anywhere).”
Currently, he’s not scheduled to appear onscreen on the new “The Haves and the Have Nots” show until sometime in 2018. He wrote in a Twitter post: “I start airing on Haves & Have Nots 2018. Bare with me. But, you can catch me almost everyday on #boldandthebeautiful on CBS :)”
Flynn joined the “Bold And The Beautiful” cast back in 2015. As previously reported, the show recently put out a casting call to find a new African American male that meets his description to a tee. At the time, it was speculated that it could be to replace Flynn. Now, that seems to be even more likely.
The show is still not confirming that’s who the casting call was for. So, we don’t have any official statements confirming it. But I think we can pretty much read between the lines on this one. The casting call is looking for a “22 to 24-year-old black male who will be a “leading man” on the show.”
Flynn has recently commented about his exit on his official Instagram account with a very long message. In it, he thanked the show’s executive producer Brad Bell for taking a chance on him. He thanked all the fans of the show for embracing him as the Zende Forrester character.
He stated, “It has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life to share a piece of myself every day with you. I worked hard to make sure I never cheated you on work ethic or integrity of this character. Such a profound responsibility to be one of the few African Americans on daytime television, one I took serious in making sure I made you feel like you knew me. My job is to imitate life in its honesty and truest form. I hope I’ve done you justice.”
After that, he gave a special thanks to his main co-star Reign Edwards aka Nicole Avant. He said, “You’re such a joy to have worked with and an amazing talent! They don’t just give out nominations for best younger actress in a drama series 2X IN A ROW. But beyond that, you’re very special to me. You helped me grow as an artist and a person.
We took on portraying this young black couple in love. We worked hard on keeping it authentic and true. So many hours of work on our own. We had to be vulnerable with each other for this to last. I wanna thank you for letting me in. We laughed together, we cried together, we went to war together & that’s what love is. Thank you Reigny #zencole.”
Lastly, he wrote that it’s not a permanent goodbye. “This is not goodbye but I’ll see you soon! Change is good. You must make change to make way for what God has for you. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Love, Rome Flynn aka Zendaddy.”
A spokesperson for the show commented about Flynn’s departure, wishing him much success. They said, “He has been a valued member of the B&B family, and we wish him much success in all of his future endeavors.”
There’s currently no word on when Flynn’s last B&B airdate will be. Some information about that should pop up pretty soon. Stay tuned. Also, be sure to follow us on our Bold And The Beautiful Facebook page for more Bold And The Beautiful news by Clicking Here.
