Riverdale Season 2’s Upcoming Episode 10 Is Getting Delayed For A While
Hey, “Riverdale” fans. Unfortunately, we have some bad news to share with you guys in this article. It turns out that the last episode 9 of the current season 2 was indeed the midseason finale. That means the show will be taking a break for a while. It will be missing in action starting tomorrow night, Wednesday, December 20,2017. So, be sure to make note of that date.
Thanks to the show’s official Wikia page , we do have the premiere date for the new, next episode 10. It is currently scheduled to hit the airwaves on Wednesday night, January 17,2018. So, be sure to mark that very important date down on your TV show calendars.
Their Wikia page also gave us the title for episode 10. It’s labeled, “Chapter Twenty Three: The Blackboard Jungle.” Episode 10 was written by Britta Lundin and Brian E. Paterson. So, give them a round of applause. We’re sure they did a great job on it.
Now, let’s go over what The CW will be airing instead of Riverdale over the next two weeks. According to the TV Guide listings, they are going to air a Christmas special called, “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” tomorrow night, December 20,2017. It will air in the usual Riverdale 7 pm central time slot.
The description for “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” reads like this, “Elmo Shropshire narrates this animated interpretation of the offbeat Yule tune as Jake Spankenheimer (Alex Doduk) tries to find his grandma and save her Christmas shop. It’s in danger of being sold by his greedy cousin, Mel (Michele Lee).” It is a one hour special.
If that sounds like something you’d be interested in watching, you’ll definitely want to keep tuning into the CW tomorrow night. If you’re not interested in watching this special, you will certainly want to start making other plans immediately.
The CW plans to follow that up with an airing of another Christmas special called, “The Top 12 Greatest Christmas Movies of All Time.” It’s going to air tomorrow night, December 20,2017 in the 8 pm central time slot. There was no official description for it, but I think the title speaks for itself. They’ll just be going over what they feel are the top 12 greatest Christmas movies of all time. That will be the full CW primetime line up for tomorrow night, December 20,2017.
On next Wednesday, December 27,2017, CW will be airing another special in the usual Riverdale 7 pm central time slot. It’s called, “EA Madden NFL 18 Challenge.” They described it as, “An inside look as eight world-class players compete in Madden 18 for a prize pool of $150,000 and the title of Madden NFL Challenge champion.”
After that, CW will air a special “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” special in the 8 pm central time slot. The description for this special reads like this, “Aspiring magicians perform their best trick to try and fool the world-famous team of Penn & Teller. It will also feature Patrik Kuffs, Lamanske, Adam Wilber and Hector.
On the weeks of January 3rd and January 10th, 2018, The CW will be airing “Riverdale” reruns. The January 3rd,2018 rerun will be the season 2 premiere episode titled, “Chapter Fourteen: A Kiss Before Dying.” The official description for that one reads like this, “As Fred’s (Luke Perry) life hangs in the balance following the shooting at Pop’s diner, Archie (KJ Apa) struggles with the emotional aftermath of what he witnessed.
Meanwhile, as Veronica (Camila Mendes) steps out of her comfort zone to support Archie, she learns that her father Hiram (Mark Consuelos) has arrived to Riverdale earlier than expected. Elsewhere, at Pop’s diner, Pop Tate (guest star Alvin Sanders) recounts the chilling details of the shooting, which leaves Jughead (Cole Sprouse) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) questioning the gunman’s true motives. Lastly, after running into Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) at the hospital, Betty and Kevin (Casey Cott) are surprised to learn about the fire at Thornhill.”
The January 10,2018 rerun has yet to be announced. With all that said, we do have some additional intel for the upcoming, new episode 10 via a preview clip that CW released for it. It turns out that Southside High will get shut down. That means everyone who went there will now be going to Riverdale High! It shows Jughead, Toni and more walking the Riverdale hallways. Veronica is seen greeting their arrival along with Archie and Kevin.
At one point, Jughead is told to take off his Southside Serpents jacket or he’ll be suspended. Archie is spotted going on a running trip with Veronica’s father Hiram Lodge. Reggie is seen making a threat to Veronica. So, that looks really intense. And last but most certainly not least, Betty’s mother Alice Cooper is seen visiting her long lost son!
We reported on this a while back. The son’s name is Chic Cooper. This is supposed to be a surprise to Betty as she doesn’t know that she has a long lost brother. CW currently hasn’t released their official press release for episode 10. We expect them to release it at anytime now especially since their mideason break isn’t quite as long as some of the other shows we’ve seen.
