Grey’s Anatomy Season 14 Latest 2018 TV Ratings Revealed

Hey , “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. We’re back at you with a new report. This time, we’ll be talking about the current ratings for your favorite show and discuss whether or not it’s in danger of getting canceled by ABC. We’ll tell you right now though. It won’t be a long discussion because the ratings are looking great at the moment.

The last episode 15 for Grey’s Anatomy’s current 14th season brought in around 7.176 million viewers and delivered a ratings number of 1.80 for the 18-49 age group demographic. That’s similar to the numbers that the 13th season’s episode 15 brought in. It was like 7.305 million viewers with a 1.90 demographic score.

Overall, the ratings nubmers for season 14 are looking quite similar to season 13’s numbers. Season 13 started off with a premiere episode that brought in 8.750 million viewers and a ratings score of 2.48 for the 18-49 age demographic. Season 14’s season premiere episode brought in 8.071 million viewers with a 2.34 18-49 demographic rating.

So, what do all these numbers mean for the fate of Grey’s Anatomy? Well, based on season 13 getting renewed for a new 14th season last year. We can only speculate that it’s almost a guarantee that ABC will give the show another renewal for a brand new season 15. They haven’t yet, but we expect them to around May 2018 or maybe sooner.

Season 14’s ratings have been slightly weaker than season 13 overall, but it’s a very minimal change. The show is still one of ABC’s highest rated dramas, and I would never place my bets on it getting canceled anytime soon. So, our final verdict is that Grey’s Anatomy is looking very good for a season 15 renewal.

The Grey’s Anatomy crew definitely feels the same way. They recently gave their main star Ellen Pompeo aka Meredith Grey a new, big raise in pay. She will now be earning a whopping $10 million dollars a season for the next two seasons if they happen.

On a less brighter note, we saw some pretty shocking layoffs take place this season. The first big one was Martin Henderson’s character Nathan Riggs. Apparently, it was not much a of a shock to him though. He new from the time his contract started that his character was set to go at some point in time.

However, this was not the case for the latest pair: Jessica Capshaw aka Arizona Robbins and Sarah Drew aka April Kepner. They were given the bad news of their character’s demise just last week. After season 14, these two will be officially written out of the show. The reason given by the Grey’s Anatomy production team is “creative reasons.” They apparently felt like the journey for these two characters has come to an end.

In related news, E! Online is reporting that a lot of the fans did something really special for Sarah and Jessica yesterday, March 19, 2018. Apparently, they had a plane fly through the air with a banner that read, “We heart Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw.”

Both Sarah and Jessica took to their Instagram accounts to show their appreciation for their fan’s great gesture. Sarah posted a photo of the plane’s message with the caption: “This is extraordinary. I can not. I can not. Thank you!”

As previously reported, Sarah Drew has already found a new acting job for CBS’ new drama “Cagney & Lacey” remake. Poor Jessica is still currently a free agent.
