New Riverdale Season 3 Possible Jughead & Betty Teasers Revealed By Cole Sprouse & Lili Reinhart
Hey, “Riverdale” fans. In this report, we’ve got a little bit of new intel for the upcoming 3rd season of your favorite show direct from Jughead portrayer Cole Sprouse and Betty Cooper star Lili Reinhart! The folks over at E! Online were able to catch up to them at the recent CW Upfronts event on the red carpet to get their take on what’s possibly in store the brand new, upcoming season 3.
It turns out that we’re more than likely going to see more of Jughead’s family get thrown into the mix, and they’re definitely going to cause some major issues in multiple areas of his life. As for Betty, we’re more than likely going to see her more happier side get explored, and put all of her darkness to rest for a while.
To get things started, the E! Online folks chatted up Jughead Jones star Cole Sprouse. He said of his character that he thinks we’ll be seeing him be a much more calm and collective Serpent leader than his old man aka father. Cole stated, “I think he’s going to be a much more calm and collective leader than his father. He’s had this rebirth into a character that’s more cool, collected and understanding of his own mortality, and capable of leading a group of people.”
Next, Cole talked about the rest of Jughead’s family possibly getting introduced in season 3, and they’re definitely going to complicate things between him and Betty and more. Cole told them, “I really don’t know too much about season 3 just yet, but I know that we’re trying to reintroduce the rest of Jughead’s family which I think is going to complicate everything. It’s going to complicate the relationship between him and Betty. I think his family life is going to be pretty disruptive, and it’ll be interesting to see how they stay strong.”
After that, E! Online talked with the beautiful Lili Reinhart on the red carpet. She started off her little season 3 spoiler tease by revealing that we’ll most likely see a much happier side of Betty get explored instead of all the darkness we saw in season 2. She stated, “Season 3 will hopefully open a door to Betty’s happiness. I think her darkness is being put to rest. I think we’re all pretty sick of saying, ‘Her darkness. My darkness. Your darkness.’
I think we’re putting that to bed, and hopefully get to explore Betty as a happy individual. I would like to see that. I know Roberto (the show’s producer) would like to see that as well. So, I think that’s something we’re aiming for in the next season.”
To wrap up her short red carpet interview, Lili talked about what exactly does it mean for Betty to be Jughead’s queen now. She thinks it’ll just be a way for her to support Jughead’s life. Lili told them when asked about it, “I’m not quite sure. I don’t know what it means.I think it’s just kind of a beautiful entry-way for Betty to really feel like she’s apart of Jughead’s world more than she was before. It’s not like she’s in a gang with him. I think it’s more so like she’s showing her support for his life and the Southside. So, it’s just sealing the deal a bit.”

In related Riverdale news, we’re still waiting for CW to announce the official premiere date for season 3. We expect them to do so probably before the month of June is over. At least that’s around the time they announced season 2’s premiere date last year. We’ll definitely let you guys know as soon as they do.
In a previous interview with Deadline.com, the show’s producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa echoed what Cole Sprouse said about the rest of Jughead’s family possibly showing up in season 3. Roberto told them, “As for new characters, I think it was really great to add Hiram Lodge to the mix in Season 2. He really shook up the Lodge family and that crime franchise. So, characters we’ve been teasing since Season 1 are Gladys Jones, FP’s wife and Jughead’s mom, and Jellybean Jones, who’s Jughead’s sister. I wouldn’t be surprised if they came to Riverdale bringing bad tidings for Jughead and Betty and FP and Alice.”
So, it sounds like seeing the rest of Jughead’s family in season 3 is definitely a very real possibility. Alright guys.
