Former Grey’s Anatomy Cristina Yang Star Sandra Oh Revealed If She Would Ever Return
Hey, “Grey’s Anatomy” fans. We’ve got a new, pretty interesting report for you guys via the crew over at TV Line. It turns out that they did a little podcast session with Grey’s Anatomy’s former Cristina Yang star Sandra Oh. They asked her the burning question that most of you fans out there would like to know which is,” would she ever return?”
You hardcore Cristina fans aren’t going to be happy with the answer she’s currently serving up. She said she usually answers that type of question with the way she’s feeling at the moment. In this particular moment, she definitely was not feeling it. She straight up told them no!
She stated, “I get the Grey’s question regularly, and I answer it really based on what I’m feeling that day. And today, my answer is no. I love Eve. I really love her. I also love Cristina Yang. I’m constantly stunned at the response I still get from Grey’s fans, you know? It’s so fantastic, and it pleases me.
It gives me a tremendous amount of satisfaction that, you know, you did work that actually continues going on past the time that you’ve left it. It’s really phenomenal. And the only way that I think I can continue doing good work is just staying true to my own compass. And that compass is pointing north.”
Her reference to Eve in that statement is in regards to her current new character she plays in a new BBC America show called, “Killing Eve.” It’s a thriller that’s actually doing quite well right now. So, we can definitely understand why Sandra might not be really thinking about jumping back into the Cristina Yang character right now. On the other hand, you just never know what the future might hold. So, don’t give up hope guys.
TV Line did point out that Cristina was actually more open to the idea of reprising her Cristina Yang role way back in 2013 just before she was about to exit the show. At that time, she told them she would definitely be into returning for a possible series finale. She stated, “Eventually, Grey’s will have to come to a close, and I would love to come back for the series finale.”
What do you guys think of Sandra Oh’s latest decision about not wanting to return to Grey’s Anatomy? Are you happy about it? Are you sad? Or do you just not care one way or the other? Let us know in the Facebook comments.
In related news, we recently reported some not-so-great news for the upcoming 15th season. According to TV Guide, we got some confirmation from one of the guest stars Scott Speedman that he will most likely not be returning to reprise his role of Nick Marsh who was a transplant surgeon in the 17th episode of this most recent season 14.
He and Meredith had hit it off after she treated him for a medical issue. The word on the street is that a lot of fans were hoping he would return to be a permanent, new love interest for Meredith. However, when a fan caught up to Scott Speedman at the Felicity reunion panel at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas earlier this month, he broke the bad news.
The fan asked him if they could expect to see him back on Grey’s Anatomy or his other show Animal Kingdom. His answer was pretty much negative for both shows. He stated, “Yeah, I don’t know. Probably, to be honest with you, neither. You’re going to have to wait a couple years. I’ll find something to do. I’m not going back to Animal Kingdom. And then Grey’s Anatomy: I don’t know. Probably not. Sorry.”
On a much brighter note, you guys can still expect to see Kim Raver’s Teddy Altman to be an upgraded season regular in the new, 15th season. That exciting news broke back in late May 2018. Some Grey’s Anatomy fans didn’t care for her too much, but I’m sure the Teddy Altman fans sure did. She will be preggers when the new season starts. So, it sounds like her situation will be quite interesting to say the least.
We’re still waiting to hear an announcement from ABC about when season 15 is scheduled to debut. We’re expecting to get the announcement around mid to late July 2018. So, be sure to stay tuned for that. Also, be sure to follow us on our Grey’s Anatomy Facebook page for more Grey’s Anatomy news by Clicking Here.
