More Marvel’s X-Men, Deadpool And Fantastic Four Movies Might Get Made Very Soon
Happy Wednesday, fellow Marvel Movie fans. You read the headline right. We’ve got some super great news for you guys. It turns out that we may indeed see a lot more X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four movies come out of the woodworks in the future!
According to a new report from the folks over at Syfy.com , Disney and Fox are about to close a merger deal if they haven’t already. When that happens, it will certainly mean more movies for these franchises because they will all be controlled by Marvel Studios. That means they will enter the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
Syfy.com also revealed that Marvel’s main boss man Kevin Feige confirmed this and even said we could see movies already start to go into development for Deadpool, X-Men and Fantastic Four as early as the next six months!
Apparently, Kevin recently showed up on a podcast show for Variety’s “Playback.” On that show, he said of the three franchises possibly going into development, “We’ve been told it’s looking very good and could happen in the first six months of next year. The notion of the characters coming back is great. It’s nice when a company that created all these characters can have access to all those characters. It’s unusual not to. But in terms of actually thinking about it and actually planning things, we haven’t started that yet.”
Kevin went on to say that they’ve actually only scratched the surface of what they plan to do with the Marvel publishing rights. He stated, “Twenty-three films in, we still have truly only scratched the surface of what has been in publishing for the last 80 years. There’s still others that we haven’t tapped into yet in terms of genre plays, which is what we always like to do.”
While we wait for all that new Marvel movie development to happen for X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four, we do have some great super hero films to look forward to that are releasing into theaters this year. Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” is set to arrive on March 8, 2019.
We’re going to see a new X-Men movie under the 20th Century Fox label entitled,”Dark Phoenix.” It’s scheduled to release on June 7, 2019. The “New Mutants” movie is scheduled to hit theaters on August 2, 2019. So, be sure to mark all those important dates down on your movie calendars.
